\nLa ceremonia de apertura comenzó con el Director del Torneo, Jack
\nEffel, presentado al comisionado Jeffrey Pollack, que a su vez se ocupó
\nde anunciar a cada uno de los Nueve de Noviembre<\/b>. Cada uno de
\nellos tenía un grupo de seguidores que los alentaban, por lo que cada
\npresentación era seguida de una gran ovación que ponía un gran ambiente
\nen el Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino de Las Vegas.\n

\"IvanDespués le tocó el turno a Jerry Yang<\/b>, el campeón saliente, de dar la tradicional orden de partida. Su ¡Barajar y repartir!<\/i>
\nllegó después de un intérvalo de casi cuatro meses en el Evento
\nPrincipal de las World Series of Poker. El juego comenzó muy tranquilo,
\ncon todos los finalistas cuidando mucho sus fichas, y evaluando a sus
\nrivales. La primera mano fue para Kelly Kim<\/a>,
\nel shortstack de la mesa final, que se llevó los 630.000 puntos de
\nciegas y antes con un raise a medio millón. Todos tenían a Kim como
\ncandidato a salir en primer lugar, debido a su gran desventaja en
\nfichas, pero el noveno lugar le correspondió a uno de los más jóvenes
\nde la mesa, Craig Marquis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Marquis fue all-in preflop con el segundo shortstack, y fue visto por Scott Montgomery<\/a>, el tercero de los más grandes. Marquis llevaba una pequeña ventaja con , mientras que Montgomery debería mejorar sus para quedarse con el stack del primero. Demidov mostró para pareja de nueves, Suharto
\npara idéntica jugada con mejor kicker, y Kim foldeó sus cartas sin
\nmostrar. Por esto Suharto se llevó el bote, y Kelly Kim quedó eliminado
\nen 8ª posición, recibiendo $1.288.217 por su esfuerzo.<\/p>\n

\"PeterPara ese entonces, el joven ruso Ivan Demidov ya había tomado el liderato, a costa de unos caros laydowns de Dennis Phillips<\/a>.
\nCon más de 38 millones en fichas, Demidov era el claro líder, para
\nalegría de los muchos rusos de sombreros militares que lo alentaban.<\/p>\n

El próximo en dejar la mesa final fue el gran favorito de la mayoría, David Chino<\/i> Rheem<\/a>. El profesional más experimentado de la mesa final -y también el más polémico a priori- fue all-in con , pero sucumbió ante la inferior de Peter Eastgate<\/a>. La mesa dejó a David Rheem<\/b> en el 7º lugar, con una recompensa de $1.772.650.<\/p>\n

Más tarde lo siguió Darus Suharto<\/b>, cuando empujó sus últimos 8.550.000 puntos con . Scott Montgoymery era el último en hablar, y pensó más de un minuto antes de aceptar, encontrándose con que su llevaba la delantera en la carrera. Las comunitarias fueron , por lo que Montgomery se llevó la mano con el color, y Suharto la 6ª posición, y un cheque de $2.418.562.<\/p>\n

Unas cuantas manos después Montgomery se enfrentó en una guerra de
\nsubidas preflop con el líder Demidov. El juego agresivo del
\nestadounidense le había reportado muchas fichas, pero esta vez su
\nataque con todo su arsenal de 42 millones de fichas se encontró con un
\ninstacall del ruso, que llevaba . La temeridad de Montgomery se comprobó al enseñar ,
\nnecesitando mucha ayuda de la mesa. Dos diamantes en el flop pusieron
\nen peligro los cowboys de Demidov, pero después nada más llegó para
\nMontgomery, por lo que su stack se redujo a sólo 7 millones de fichas,
\ny Demidov incrementaba su liderato a unos enormes 51 millones.<\/p>\n

Shortstack, Montgomery fue all-in en la mano siguiente, sin ser visto.
\nEn la mano posterior nuevamente empujó todas sus fichas, y esta vez fue
\nvisto por Peter Eastgate. Nuevamente, Montgomery necesitaría de ayuda
\nya que sus corrían con desventaja ante las de Eastgate. Esta vez la mesa trajo la ayuda esperada por Montgomery, que en el turn -- llevaba trips. Sin embargo, el river sería un doloroso que dio full house a Eastgate. 5ª posición para Scott Montgomery<\/b>, y recompensa de $3.096.678.<\/p>\n

El cuarto lugar fue para el ex-profesional de ajedrez Ylon Schwart<\/b>z,
\nque no se había movido mucho durante la mesa final. Eastgate subió a
\n1,5 millón la apuesta en el preflop, y Schwartz fue el único que vio.

La última mano de la noche, la número 169, comenzó con un raise preflop
\nde 1,5 millón de Peter Eastgate, que ocupaba la ciega pequeña. Ivan
\nDemidov tiró sus cartas desde el botón, y Dennis Phillips decidió ver.

\nEastgate apostó otro 1,5 millón de puntos, pero Phillips resubió en
\nall-in por poco menos de 15 millones. Eastgate volvió a aceptar al

\nrestaban sólo dos jugadores: Peter Eastgate<\/b> de 22 años, e Ivan Demidov<\/b>,
\nde 27. Ambos serán los encargados de definir esta noche -madrugada de
\nEuropa- quien es el nuevo Campeón de las WSOP. El joven ruso lleva una
\ngran ventaja con su stack de 79.500.000 puntos, por sobre los 57.725.000
