\nEl Equipo PokerStars Pro se agranda y sigue sumando a jugadores
\nlatinoamericanos. Hace casi dos meses informábamos en un artículo
\nacerca de la incorporación del mexicano JC Alvarado<\/a>. Ahora es el turno de Leo Fernández, de Argentina, y María Mayrinck \"Maridú\", de Brasil.\n

El
\nanuncio fue realizado en la antesala de la Fiesta de Bienvenida para el
\nEvento Principal del LAPT Punta del Este. Fue entonces cuando Sarne
\nLightman, director de Marketing de PokerStars<\/a> para Latinoamérica, presentó a los nuevos miembros.\n<\/p><\/div>

\nLEO FERNANDEZ<\/b><\/p>

\nLeonardo
\nMiguel Fernández tiene 35 años y,como muchos profesionales del póquer,
\nse inició en el ajedrez. Comenzando ese juego a los 5 años y luego
\ncompitió de forma semi-profesionalhasta los 18, edad en la que recibió
\nel título de maestro internacional. Luego pasó a jugar backgammon,
\ndisciplina en la que también se destacó, dedicándose profesionalmente
\ndesde el año 1992 y llegando a trepar al Top Ten del ránking mundial.
\nHa ganado varios torneos internacionales y, aunque ya casi no compite
\nprofesionalmente por falta de tiempo, mantiene de todas formas aún el
\npuesto 32 a nivel mundial.\n

Su carrera como jugador de póquer se
\ninició en el año 1993 explorando diferentes modalidades. Recién en el
\naño 2004 se volcó de lleno a las especialidades más populares, Omaha y
\nHoldem, compitiendo en varios Grandes Torneos internacionales.<\/p>\n

En
\nel año 2005 consiguió colocarse en el puesto 67 en el prestigioso Five
\nStar World Poker Classic, llevándose un premio de $30.000.
\nEse mismo
\naño ganaría otros $76.500 al coronarse Campeón del Poker International
\nTournament celebrado en el Conrad Casino de Punta del Este, Uruguay.
\nEn el 2006 alcanzó el puesto 170 en el Evento Principal de las WSOP, cobrando $47.006.
\nAl
\naño siguiente, en 2007, se presentó nuevamente en Las Vegas, obteniendo
\nel puesto 18 en un Evento de Pot Limit Omaha, con premio de $28.040, y
\notro premio de $19.086 por su puesto 13 en un evento NL Holdem 6 handed.
\nNuevamente
\nen las WSOP, en la edición del año 2008, cobró nuevamente en el Evento
\nPrincipal, llevándose $35.383 como recompensa por alcanzar el puesto
\n257.\n<\/p><\/div>

\nMARIA MAIRYNCK<\/b>
\nMaría Eduarda \"MARIDU\" Mayrinck nació en Río de Janeiro, y es la primera mujer brasileña en ser sponsoreada por PokerStars<\/a>.
\nMaridú consiguió llamar la atención de la conocida sala tras sus éxitos
\nen NL Holdem en Brasil, Europa y Estados Unidos. A partir de este
\ncontrato, Maridú jugará torneos locales e internacionales. Como
\nantecedente, se puede destacar su participación en 7 eventos de la WSOP
\ny es reconocida como la mejor jugadora en su país. También fue
\nreconocida como la mejor jugadora de Latinoamerica, al posicionarse
\nentre los 3 mejores brasileños entrados en premios en esas series que
\nmencionamos.
\nAntes de dedicarse profesionalmente al póquer, tuvo una
\nimportante carrera como escritora de guiones para la televisión
\nbrasileña.\n

Con estas incorporaciones, Latinoamérica sigue dando
\npasos hacia adelante y va colocando de a poco a sus mejores exponentes
\nen el circuito internacional.<\/p>\n

Fernández y Maridú se unen así a la leyenda Humberto Brenes<\/a>, de Costa Rica y al mexicano JC Alvarado<\/a>, entre otros, en el selecto grupo de latinoamericanos que representan a PokerStars<\/a> ante el mundo.<\/p>\n<\/div>
