Stupid 3rd Place

These stats are just for today but out of 361 SnGs I have finished 1st 44 times, 2nd 30 times and 3rd 52 times.

Any hints for turning 3rd place into 2nd place or even better 1st more often?

if you go all in with the best hand and get sucked out there is nothing you can do.

just be aggressive and remember to lower your hand range.

Don't be too tight , try to get the 1st place every time you are in the money. You are either going for 3rd or 1st , and I am not making this up, read this on some SNG strategy article on a good website.

So play as if you want to take the chip lead the and the top prize.

going for second is sometimes OK.

ie spots where both of you guys are short, and a double up still puts you quite far from the chipleader. (so chipleader has ~5x more chips than both of you)

oh, and if the chipleader is passive.

but generally, on the bubble if we're short we play for 3rd, if we're bigstack we bully for first. in the money we usually just play for first.
