      Hello Sinisa91,

      Congratulations to your recent winnings.

Please be aware, that you need a proper bankroll management otherwise you will go broke. :(

So please read again our article: What is bankroll management?

      Good luck,

It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or not. Also professional poker players use a bankroll management. By using it you reduce the risk of ruin. If you run unlucky a few tournaments you will lose a massive part of your bankroll and in the worst case you lose everything.

      Best regards,
      Hannes

While the bankroll management article is very useful when playing normal games, these turbos have some downsides. One of the downsides: blinds are growing fast, 3 minutes blinds. There are no non-turbo SNG's in PartyPoker.

The other downside: hands like these:

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $30/$60 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

      Known players:
      BU:
      $1540.00
      BB:
      $1420.00
      UTG:
      $1960.00
      UTG1:
      $1460.00
      UTG2:
      $5940.00
      MP1:
      $2000.00
      MP2 (Hero):
      $2000.00
      MP3:
      $1960.00
      CO:
      $1720.00

      Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q, Q.
      UTG1 calls $60.00, UTG2 calls $60.00, MP1 folds, Hero raises to $240.00, MP3 folds, CO calls $240.00, BU calls $240.00, BB calls $210.00, UTG folds, UTG1 calls $180.00, UTG2 calls $180.00.

      Flop: ($1410) 4, 3, 3 (6 players)
BB checks, UTG1 checks, UTG2 checks, Hero bets $600.00, CO calls $600.00, BU folds, BB folds, UTG1 folds, UTG2 folds.

      Turn: ($2610) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $660.00, CO calls $660.00.

      River: ($3930) 6 (2 players)
Hero raises to $500.00(All-In), CO calls $220.00(All-In).

      Final Pot: $4650.
      Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, queens and threes(Q Q).
      CO shows a straight, seven high(5 A).

Hero wins with two pairs, queens and threes(Q Q).
CO wins with a straight, seven high(5 A).

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $100/$200 No-Limit Hold'em (5 handed)

      Known players:
      BB (Hero):
      $490.00
      MP2:
      $3675.00
      MP3:
      $9530.00
      CO:
      $2030.00
      BU:
      $4275.00

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, 9.
2 folds, BU calls $200.00, Hero calls $100.00, MP2 checks.

      Flop: ($300) 6, 9, 7 (3 players)
Hero raises to $390.00(All-In), MP2 calls $290.00, BU folds.

      Turn: ($980) Q (2 players)

      River: ($980) 6 (2 players)

      Final Pot: $980.
      Results follow:

Hero shows two pairs, nines and sixs(A 9).
      MP2 shows three of a kind, sixs(8 6).

      MP2 wins with three of a kind, sixs(8 6).

      And many others.

Being under pressure of getting blinded out, these are common hands actually. Any overcard is all in at 7th level.

On the other side, the 3$ SNG's have a Speed version, 5 minutes per blind. That almost doubles the time spent in the tourney. I think getting up the stakes is actually more of a benefit here than a risk.

Disclaimer: The hands posted above happened about 5 seconds one after the other, hence my post. I'm not claiming everyone should move from the 1$'s to 3$'s, just stating that I think it suits my style. I'm just sick of not being able to call a push while shortstacked, 50th hand in the game.

as a rule of thumb, turbo games require your bankroll to be 25% larger. 3 min blinds aren't really a downside. remember they have an upside: games end faster = faster hourly rate. As long as you know your ICM like the back of your hand, and use BRM you should be fine.

      Hello Esimon,

Can I get ur ideas to ur first hand? I really don't like it the way u play it. From my point of view you should have bet more on flop and turn for value. I play at partypoker for myself and find it very fishy there ;) but on the other hand, they call to much bets and that's why u have to bet higher to get your value and to protect yourself from runner runner crap.

The second hand I would have pushed preflop. I think you have to less money to play stop-and-go, I guess you have more fold-equity when pushing preflop.

      Don't be offended ;)
