      The only hand I think he could have is AKo with the king of hearts. The only way he wouldn't bet the flop. Or am I missing something? Was I right to take a shot on the turn?

      Preflop: Well, against that kind of nit just fold it preflop. :) You might be already far-far behind and at the best just Call for set-value. :D ~13:1 are the set value odds. Although with Calling there I am pretty sure you just gonna invest too much money when having an overpair. Might even want to go broke.

      Postflop: Well, you can easily just Check the turn. It's way too often a trap when he Checks behind in such a situation.
