Hand converted with online hand converter:

      Play hand

      $0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (8 handed)

      Known players:
      CO (Hero):

Preflop: Hero is CO with K, J.
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.08, BU calls $0.08, 2 folds, BB folds.

      Flop: ($0.19) A, Q, 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.14, BU calls $0.14.

      Turn: ($0.47) T (2 players)
Hero bets $0.33, BU calls $0.33.

      River: ($1.13) A (2 players)
Hero bets $0.54, BU raises to $2.03(All-In), Hero calls $1.49.

      Final Pot: $5.19.

      Results follow:

BU shows four of a kind, aces(Ac As).
Hero shows a straight, ace high(Kh Js).

BU wins with four of a kind, aces(Ac As).

Villain is 31/18 over 69 hands.

Is this a dumb call? His line to me looked a lot like some Ax hand. I never put him on the flush as only K :diamond: J :diamond: is likely, any other combo he would want to raise to protect. He could also do this with the nut straight or even a weaker straight (J9) so I figured a call was the only option.

well your line on the flop and turn was good (probably bet a bit bigger on the turn), but on the river when you face a shove I think you should consider a fold. You have to keep in mind that you were the initial aggresor and fired on 3 streets, so he can't be pure bluffing, as long as you preatty much represent an A there.

He probably has a made flus that he slowplayed in position or if he is fishy he could sometimes have a random A that he didn't want to fold and now he tries to get value from...???

      Hello numbnutter,

Till the river raise is everything fine but I don't really like the Call on the river. You definitely don't beat much there anymore and can easily lay down your hand. What do you expect to see there? Especially while AT/AQ makes a FH and not to talk about maybe even some sets.

      Best Regards.
