      Hello guyz ....

      So here i am.....

About me: My name is Niki and i'm from greece .... i started playing live poker for fun with friends 2 years ago and i really loved it .... it was so fun... there were mixed feelings, tough decisions and real fun ...

so i joined with the starting capital at full tilt and now i have my challenge ...

to make my 50$ into 250$ and keep going rising and rising ... :s_cool:

Ok my start was good ... i was playing NL2 (x25 BI rule) and made a quick profit of 15$ in about 4-5 days .... when i joined i took the "take 2" challenge so i won another 25 bucks .... and nowdays i have a BR of 102$ ....

i started 4 tabling NL2 and i felt really comfortable so i added 2 more tables and made them 6 at total....

ok so 2 days ago i download Holdem Manager trial to see where i'm at with my playing and i kept records to check out ....

ok after Holdem Manager i played 4 sessions in total ...

      SESSION 1

      Minutes : 78.9
      Stakes : 1c/2c NL
      Hands : 339
      Profit : 6.02$

This was a perfect session for me as i made 3 Buy in's profit in 1hour and 20 minutes play ...
Had really good hands , play fairly well and the flop loved me a lot ....
And of course played with the right opponents
      :s_biggrin:

      SESSION 2

      Minutes : 58.1
      Stakes : 1c/2c NL
      Hands : 361
      Profit : 1.41$

Pretty good session. Good play. Nice hands. Ok for me. Nothing to comment on

      SESSION 3

      Minutes : 234.6
      Stakes : 1c/2c NL
      Hands : 1193
      Profit : 0.35$

This was one of my worst sessions played...
I made pretty good start with a profit of 4$ in 30 minutes ....
Continued playing the same style but the continue was bad....
I had really good hands but was always dominated...
When i had monsters i tried to 3-bet , value bet etc and every time a fish had trash and finally on river made a flush or straight ....
I never made trips with so many pocket pairs on my hand...
I think i played really well cause when a straight draw or a flush draw was out there i was always raising fairly good to protect my hand....
When i had straight draws and flush draws my percentage of hiting the flush/straight was 1/20 .... Full tilt really hates me from yesterday ....
      :f_frown:

      SESSION 4

      Minutes : 149.8
      Stakes : 1c/2c NL
      Hands : 758
      Profit : -3.23$

Beggining was good ... had a profit of 3-4 $ like session 3
And this is my worst session so far ....
I knew i had a warning from yesterday and i tried to play well .... i mixed my play ... played pot control, value bet, good protection. But those fish at these stakes really drive me crazy ... they are not folding even a second pair with pot raise ....
they keep calling without odds and finally deck loves them and they hit straight or two pair ....
this session was similar to SESSION 3 and right now i think im losing my self esteem .... And i was feeling really comfortable 6-tabling those stakes ....
      :s_cry:

here is the 4 sessions' graph

this is the end for today ....
Im gonna have my head cleared ....
I have mood to learn and profit and become a winning poker player ....

      Any advice is welcome!

and now i have some questions ....
Should i play less tables ? is this variance (which i think it is) ?
      What are you advice ?

My BR is 103$ right now which means that after 15 days of playing i have a profit of 28$ from NL2 and another 25$ from "take 2" challenge.... I have played about 10-20K hands in 15 days.
Im posting through my laptop cause im at my parents for holidays... tomorrow i'll be able to post sessions that i played in my desktop at home and see what's going on

Am i going well or else ?

thanks in advance mates ... wish me luck

P.s. If you don't like the way i write on blog and you get bored let me know to try my best :)

Really good session , a lot of action , i started with an early profit of 4$ got my psychology boosted and then the bad beats came , i lost all the profits i made by good play by bad beats. Really didn't make any mistake. I did right calls but river on full tilt always hates me.... i was at a profit of 12$ but managed to end session with about 5.5$ profit...
I'll post some hands to see in what cases i felt into and lost a lot of money from nowhere. and you'll see that i should WIN !!!!

ok here are the hands from the last session ,
i want comments on my play to see where im at :)

ok my first loss, i want to mention that the fish that raised all in was all time raising all in and i had see his play so i knew he hadn't a monster and that with my AKo i could really win him. I was right. He had pocket sixes. See it :)

      Hi Niki,

Good to see you blogging at last. It's a great motivation to play better when you are keeping a blog like this. You will reap the rewards in time to come.

It's also good to see you using HEM. The use of stats in online play is really important. It can give you an extra edge against other players and every edge can be vital to your win rate.

Just looked at some of the hands you posted. The AKo versus 66 is pretty standard at any level (even NL2). AKo is only Ace high, it's pretty to look at PF but if you don't connect remember 22 is beating you. The fact that the guy shoved doesn't make him a fish or a donk in my opinion. AK versus any pair (except AA & KK) is only a coinflip (50-50) so it's best to call a raise or raise 4BB pre-flop.

At least when the flop comes down with or without a A or K you know where you stand. So I would avoid going AI pre-flop unless you getting monster value.

As for variance you'd really have to play something like 50k hands at the limit to see it better. 10k hands is relatively short term so it's a little early to be talking variance.

Keep up the good work and keep updating.

      Hi gary .

      thanks for the comments.

I play AKo exactly the way you describe... But i called he's all in cause i had saw a lot of his hands. he was raising pot size with air. raising all in with second pairs etc...

was raising all in every 2 or 3 hands so i knew i had chances... i didn't like the coin flip cause im afraid of them. i was expecting to see K10,J10,Q9,Q10 something like that (suited or not). I was unlucky but i still think i made the right move against this opponent...

I didn't say that he is a fish because he raised all in with 66.... i said that he's a fish cause i had seen all his play strategy.

I'll keep updating my blog and home more people like you follow me and help :)

      thanks again

Ok guyz im back with update from today ! :D

Today i had all day free and i burnt myself at poker !
So long , i played 1 HUGE session

      Stakes: 1c/2c NL
      Hands: 3104
      Profit: 6.83$

      ok now about this session
I feel happy at last event though the profit isn't that big for the time that i played but the first 3 hours were terrible

I found myself losing 5$. Bad Beats, Board hated me , everything went right to make me lose ! i couldn't believed that i could lose that much with my play ...

so i continued playing and with the help of tablescanner i found some good tables with fish and joined!

      Total number of tables 9 ! yeap ... i 9-tabled it ... hard but good !

so after that loses i started having good plays and have my psychology boosted! so i managed to get back what i lost and have a total profit of 6.83$ !

Ok so im back with some gooooood updates :s_grin:

I was away at my parents' for the weekend and i had pretty much time to concentrate at my game ! and as a result i did well this time ...

ok so i played 8 sessions and here we go :

      SESSION 1

      Minutes : 55.2
      Stakes : 1c/2c NL
      Hands : 198
      Profit : -0.21$

yeap not a good session but lost minimum :)

      SESSION 2

      Minutes : 50.6
      Stakes : 1c/2c NL
      Hands : 282
      Profit : 0.80$

      average

      SESSION 3

      Minutes : 94.9
      Stakes : 1c/2c NL
      Hands : 554
      Profit : -0.09$

      nothing
ok now i made the decision , after having 130$ BR, to give a shot at NL5 and yeap that was great !
before i post the sessions at NL5 i have to admit that when i joined i was very money scared, just because at NL2 when i had 120$ BR if i lost 2 AI it was about 4$ so nothing compared to my BR but now if i lose 2 AI i'll lose about 10$ and it's something bad for an 130$ BR. So i played extremely tight, tried to read opponents, made the right bluffs and the right value bets

      SESSION 4

      Minutes : 170.8
      Stakes : 2c/5c NL
      Hands : 635
      Profit : 15.14$

My first profit at NL5 and it's awsome !! :s_love:
was very happy to achieve that

      SESSION 5

      Minutes : 137.3
      Stakes : 2c/5c NL
      Hands : 801
      Profit : -2.56$

was money scared, didn't play really well, had good opponents and lost 1/2 BI

      SESSION 6

      Minutes : 120.1
      Stakes : 2c/5c NL
      Hands : 540
      Profit : 5.91$

so this is my comeback and the psychology boost i needed

      SESSION 7

      Minutes : 122.5
      Stakes : 2c/5c NL
      Hands : 512
      Profit : 9.83$

another great session, played well, had the right opponents and all work well !

      SESSION 8

      Minutes : 226.3
      Stakes : 2c/5c NL
      Hands : 896
      Profit : -0.99$

ok this was my worst session at NL5 ... i was winning for the first 2 hours 6$ but then before i log out i go trouble hands , underestimated some guyz and situations so i lost the profit, but ok , not a big loss :)

ok so my GRAPH so far is like that :s_cool:
