      NEW 18/11/11 :

This blog is pratically dead. You can always read it for some informations about SNGs and some of my past challenges.

I am now playing live like once a month and will try to play some cash game online. I had money on Titan and will play NL4(Euros). This blog will mostly be about my life and poker life.

Poker related things you will find :

      Informations about my NL game.
Informations about my horses and why I stake certain people
Informations about my live game at the casino & tournaments

      -----

      Past intro :

      Hello everyone,

You might of seen me lurking around the forums since I am now very attached to this wonderful community that pokerstrategy is. You might as well remember a few of my blog back then.

For those who don't know me, I am a student in biochemistry and 23 years old. Currently last year of university and might do a master after. Poker has always been one of my favorite hobby since I started playing. (About 3 years online and 5 years + real life) I also like blizzard games such as SC2 and WoW but I think to myself that if I spend time on something, it might as well maybe give me money in the end :) .

      -----------------------------------------------------

      For 2011 Goals :

      • Make a side little income with poker to substain me during uni
      • Reach the 22$ by the end of the years
      • Get a solid coaching if my BR allows it or make some kind of stalking deal that allows me to get coaching ;)
      • Go to casino --> Play cash game --> Profit
      • Play live tournaments
      • Ship again 2-3 big MTT online
      • Try to get volume each week even with school
      • Study study study and improve everyday :)

      ---------------------------------------------------------
SPRING BREAK 2011 : The start of another intense grinding session !

      Goals in 7 days :

      • 500 SNGs minimum (70 per day very doable)
      • Profit in the 6.5$
      • Try Reach gold status (yes) again ---> Watch all of <3 videos
      • Unlock my 50$ bonus
      • Extra tilt control even with huge volume
      • Post hands in the hand eval forums, and post my thoughts there everyday

      Non related poker goals
      • Eat more well (See main forum for nutrition topic)
      • Train everyday
      • Do kung fu again :)

      --------------------------------------

UPDATE HOLIDAY 2010-2011 : THE INTENSE GRINDING SESSION

It's that time of the year again.
When I can finally sit back and enjoy myself while learning new things in poker. This time it is more serious than ever and I plan on grinding and playing while studing poker like mad.

Here's my goal of this holiday session :

:club: Make it to 6.50$ SNG turbos by january 10th [x]
:club: Volume : 100 SNG daily except on december 31st and 25th. []
:club: 1-2 hours of studing everything when I wake up, therefore try to wake up early enough to study everyday.[x]
:club: Maybe get coaching or stalking? ?! Not sure[]
:club: Make it to gold status, reread all gold articles. []
:club: Find 2$ (and higher) SNG turbo sweating partners on Skype : Steve.gold87[Found a study group]

That's pretty much it for my holiday breaks.

After that I have a less intense semester than usually so I will try to play a good amount of volume but I will see how holidays goes. This is probably the last time I will get a chance to do something like this with all the rumors about the poker in the US, it's time that I have some success of fail for real. I know I have the potential just hope I put enough power in it.

      WISH ME LUCK!

      And watch my daily updates!!!

      --------------------------------------------------------

I am also a MTT player from time to time. Had some success this year, I somehow make it deep all the time in the daily dollar (45/9000 for example) and I was third in 5$ KO tournament for like 250$. I withdrew most of the money to follow my BRM. I try to focus on STT.

      Edit 2 :

This blog is now about Turbos SNG because I have found they tilt the hell out of me A LOT LESS than super turbos. Easier for my heart. Also my winning rate is much better so far. Please look at the last post to follow my progress and thank you for reading my blog. Any help is appreciated and if you need any kind of advice just ask.

Some questions after the first session of my blog I am wondering...

      Super turbos...

When the blinds are 15/30 and stacks 300 I think EP we should fold AQs/o ...Each time I push with it I get called by better or a coin flip..and my SNG ends like that.

I realize it's better to push with a wide range in LP then AI EP with AQ or TT.

Does SNG wizard support superturbo mode? I think so. I really need to buy it but so broke ATM.

Can't wait to be able to see my red line on HEM, yet again if one of you have it..

See you in a few days

Thanks for reading DannyG13 good to see you again :)

I had to withdraw some money to eat, student life is sad isn't it?

So my fulltilt bankroll is now : 100$

It's kind of a good thing now the progress in my blog will be easier to follow for you guys and I still have the BR for 2$ Superturbos. Today though, I decided to try turbo SNGs, after thinking I think my edge might be bigger on those and also I find that it's hard to find advice from people here without getting a coach.

I won't name names but somebody got very offended when I asked tips :D . It's very bad that some people don't know how to express themselves without having to sound like asshole...oh well.

Well, I will see you guys soon and let you go if I stick to superturbos or switch to regular turbos.

Here's what I will do and post the result :

      400 Turbo Sng 2$

      400 Superturbo Sng 2$

I will then compare the results of both.
I know 400 is very little volume but it should still give me an idea.

      Take care everyone

      Hello,

So i've started playing regular turbos FR. I can say already that I feel so much better playing them than I did with superturbos. I feel the variance is sooo much lower and that I am actually playing poker.

I started my 400 SNG turbo session with a "downswing" because I wasn't use to huge stacks like that anymore; it took me a while to adapt again and I had to reread some articles.

I found that I am able to play 9 tables very very easily now, I think I make good decisions specially with my PUSH & FOLD phase that has improved a lot with superturbos.

So just a small update to let you guys what's happening

      65/400 TURBO SNG : +12.15$
0/400 superturbo (will do them separatly)

Also, the turbos don't make me want to kill myself with all the bad beats. Yes I do get them, but at least now as often as in superturbos. People actually can find the fold button when they have a stack of chips ;) .

Still reading the poker mindset..very good book.

So far school is taking a lot of time and will until end december, but I can't wait to grind intensly for 2 weeks during my winter break! :)

Mental|Physical health is not so good right now..November is one hell of a long and depressing month. Specially when you live in Canada, so cold, dark, and lonely.... :(

      Until next time guys

      BR : 113,56$

      Hi everyone,

At this point, I am wondering WHY THE FUCK DID I WASTE TIME PLAYING SUPERTURBOS??

Right now, I almost made the same profit in 100 games than I did in 1000 games of superturbos, It's obvious what I am going to keep playing. It's true I am probably running good right now but I know for a fact that I am still getting bad beats and I am still able to run super good.

Oh and tonight was awesome, I got my second royal flush in 2 weeks. Funny thing is that I played 8 years of poker (even more real life) and I never got one ..but now 2 in 2 weeks...so sick.!!! Should I go gamble for real? :P lol.

      Woot :P

I am still getting used to the big stacks like before but I really feel a bigger edge over player...i will wait after the 400 games to see what my profit is, but if it's big I might consider not even playing the 400 superturbos and just focus on regular turbos SNG.

Here's my graph for my 101 games so far since I started this blog :

Reason why I love this graph is mostly because it's almost a straight line in the end when we will look at it...you can see the tendancy.

      101/400 Turbo SnG : Total profit : +22.95$

      BR : 122.66$
Played some cheap satelittes...without success lol

Rakeback in two days yea! The only good thing about superturbos is that I could get crazy amount of rakeback...

Edit 1: I see so many people are blogging noawadays...I remember back then when only a few blogs were up it was much easier to find my blog in the pages hehe ! Man I am totally ruined my school semester with poker :\

      Hi all,
      Time for a small update!

I thought I should post here while I am on a good heater. I have been getting lucky for a few SNGs and I am having crazy good results. Hopefully I don't jinx myself :D .

Earlier in this blog I said that I "wasted" time playing superturbos. Well that is not true because I realize so much improvement in the push or fold phase according to ICM. Today some unregular were chatting about me saying how I was going all in almost every hand (blinds were high obviously) and they were super frustrated against me :P ...Time to change avatar I guess?!

Here's a crazy hand I'd love to share..Glad I am not the guy holding AA.

I am still reading the mindset and trying to do each action point in the book, action points are part where the author of the book ask you to do something to make your mindset better. So far the best deal for me is to control my emotion, I am thinking it might help me in my game but also in real life.

After my 400 games I will definally rename this thread to regular turbos...

Here's my result so far :

      155/400 SNG turbo game : +47.25$
      Rakeback : +6,01$

I am kind of in a dilemma right now ; wait to have a big bankroll enough for 6,50$ turbos or just play regular 5$

Let me know your thought on that.
How many BI should I get for 6.50$..I am thinking about 40 BI min. so maybe 250$?

      See you guys next time!

      Total bankroll : 152,12$

      Hey everyone!
Today I met DannyG13 at a table hehe! Gonna try to avoid him too because I suppose this will be -EV for me :P

I didn't have much time for poker again but I had like 2 breakeven and one losing session so nothing very good to tell. Still I feel much confortable playing the 2$ turbos instead of the superturbos so I will stick with them.

      190 SnG : Profit : 36.90$
Loss since last update : 11$

That's it, I should go back to study.
Take care everyone. I know I am probably posting too many updates but this is like a journal to me :] .

Also if somebody could help me find the Nash article (for HUs) I would give them major hugs.

Feel free to add me on skype anytime to discuss SNGs : steve.gold87 (or sweat session)

      Bye bye

Hehe, sorry I wasn't the most talkative. Was the most hectic session i've had in a while, cashing in 7 of the 9 sit n gos I was involved in. :D

What ROI you currently running at?

I'll add you on Skype too. I know I had you before, but that was on a different account, had a new one that actually works properly for a while now.

You're building well, keep at it. :)

lol no problem. Would of been weird for other people anyways. Sngs can be awesome like that. 7 cashes out of 9 is ridiculous gj.

My ROI is 8.63 right now. That's pretty high imo might go down. Do you play a lot?

Well, as I mentioned before I played Rush for a while. Started playing SnG's again on the 24th of this month, happy with my volume so far (9 tabling).

      24th - 17
      26th - 46
      27th - 43
      28th - 56

Currently running at 12.59% ROI over 162 games.

Very nice Danny, looking forward to speak strategy with you on skype again and GL with your thing!

      So hi everyone,
It's been a while since last update and to be honest I should not even be updating right now but I should be studying for my finals...lol..

Right now the 2$ turbos I am playing are kind of very soft...or I got better? Not sure which one is it. Lots of players are sitting down at the tables limping wayyyy too many hands and calling with stuffs they shouldn't call, still it makes me happy most of the time, except when they give me bad beats. But what makes me happy the most is that people are able to fold, unlike superturbos where they think any hand is good because of their stack/bb ratio.

I will not set myself some goals for december because I know that I will not have tat much time to play except when the holidays will start. Then I will update my blog everyday with my mass pokerage results and holiday goals.

I am running very well so far in the 2$ and I am very happy. ...and tomorrow is friday so that makes me even more happier :D !!(Why? Because of rakeback actually, nothing else.)

Here's my graphic after 235 games of SNG turbos

I think it's pretty nice. Still a nice line. I hope I don't jinx myself too.

      235 SNG turbos profit : [153.92$
Win since last update : 12$

THank you for all who supports me and for reading.
I will not be active for a while might play like 18 SNG per 2 days or something
      Take care
Stupid finals and lab report, being a biochemist sucks sometimes

Well then I must of did something wrong when I played them or just got extremly bad lucky. ;) Either way, I wasn't able to find people to help me find leaks and AA<J8 AK<A3 AQ<J2 were making me too angry. Not worth my rage, now I feel a lot more aclm since I started the turbos. Bad beats happens yes, but not as much.

      Hey everyone,

I had a great session today

First I read a few articles this morning, the new articles about stats...It's ok, nothing really I didn't know but it doesn't hurt to read!

But that motivated me to change my HUD display.

I customized it with color and the most important stats. It looks very nice and it is much easier to read now! I feel like it will help me more...

I was thinking about the volume I said I was going to play.

I play SNGs by set of 9......so 100 SnG would be 11 set which is a lot for one day! One set of 9 takes me around 1 hour...so it would take me 9 hours everyday which means basically I would have no time to do anything else of my life! While I would love to do that, I think I will drop the amount to ~90-81 SNGs daily........!

Oh and my last set was strange....People were very lucky with sevens let me show you :)
