      Play hand

      $0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

      Known players:
      BB (Hero):
      $2.00
      UTG1:
      $2.50
      UTG2:
      $3.50
      MP1:
      $2.96
      MP2:
      $4.55
      MP3:
      $5.00
      CO:
      $1.28
      BU:
      $3.22
      SB:
      $1.71

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8, 8.
5 folds, CO calls $0.02, BU folds, SB calls $0.01, Hero checks.

      Flop: ($0.06) 8, 2, J (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.05, CO calls $0.05, SB folds.

      Turn: ($0.16) 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.14, CO raises to $0.28, Hero raises to $1.93, CO calls $0.93.

      River: ($3.3) 5 (2 players)

      Final Pot: $3.3.

      Results follow:

Hero shows three of a kind, eights(8c 8h).
CO shows three of a kind, nines(9h 9c).

CO wins with three of a kind, nines(9h 9c).

I play after STH, which tells me to limp in BB.
Anyway, I didn't think he would have a straight.

Should I have folded to the raise, or should I have 3betted him a little lighter?
I don't understand, I keep hitting a set, and then no matter how high i bet the flop, they will call and surely hit theirs later...
      It's frustrating.

      Villain: 59

A set of eights is still far too strong to fold here despite his display of strength. After his min raise on the turn you are probably okay shoving because any raise and he's basically pot committed at that point and just calling lets him draw.

      Hello nuxia,

Since he has only 60BB I would very often play like you did but against full stack you could easily consider just Calling there and playing for FH or reevaluating river.

      Best regards.
