I yoyo between silver and gold but as I am gold ATM I going post here :D

What do you guys think when you see a pot-size raise? Or conversely when do you use a pot size raise.?

I don't have enough data but when I do call these pot size raises it has been hands like AK that had missed the flop.

      Thoughts please

      Cheers Jass

It's hard to say much because you could be talking about preflop or postflop, and the raise could be in position or out of position, and it could be after showing aggression on the previous street or not.

Also, it matters if you are playing on a site with a "bet pot" button.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear - mea culpa ?(

      Scenario A

      Full Tilt $4 Rush SNG

      Standard 3BB raise from MP2 pre-flop.
      One call from Button (me!)
      Pre-flop pot 7.5BB

      Flop 2c 7h Td
      Post-flop MP2 - Pot size raise 7.5BB

What does that indicate? AK that has missed flop and MP2 wants to close out the hand?

      Scenario B

      Full Tilt $4 Rush SNG

      Standard 3BB raise from MP2 (me!) pre-flop.
      One call from SB
      Pre-flop pot 7BB

      Flop 2c 7h Td
      Post-flop SB - Pot size raise 7BB

What does that indicate? 72 paired and BB wants to close out the hand in case the board pairs making 22 useless?

      Cheers

      Jass :D

That would be a pot size bet. Not a raise.

Realy opponent dependent. I think it's nuts or nothing.
Nothing is easyer to make, so most of the time, it's nothing.
