FTP/FTAP useless?

Since using FTP/FTAP reduces the rakeback, what can I do with them?

Like one points used cost about $0.005 rakeback, so for example there is:
      240.000 points vs $1000

That means my rake is getting reduced by $1200 (240.000x$0.005=$1200). Hell its not even profitable to do that.

The only thing I can come up is to spend all your points when you stop poker or move to another site since you can leave your rakeback there negative.

Someone else better ideas what to do with your points?

Thing is that you can buy step tickets or other tickets for those points -> and win a lot more $ then what you lose in rakeback.

Btw. you lose 0.005 * 0.27 $ in rakeback for every FTP used.

And some ppl said that using academy points doesn't affect rakeback at all. (I can't confirm that this is 100% true)

I don't quite understahdn that part, about 0.005*0.27.

I've read the rakeback faq and it says academy points also affects rakeback.

On full tilt you get 27% rakeback.

When you buy something from the store using FTP 0.005$ for every point gets deducted from your "rake balance". (so if you used e.g. 1000 FTP, it will be as if you actually raked 5$ less while playing)

So you actually lose 27% of those 0.005$. Or for example 5$ * 0.27 if you used 1000 FTP.

About the academy points - as I said I'm not sure what information is correct.

You do not loose 0.005$ of rakeback for each FTP but only 27% of that.

Don't you mean when I use 1000 FTP, $5 gets deducted from my "rake balance" but I will get 27% of $5 as "rakeback"?

So in other words when using 1000 FTP:
      I lose 73% of $5
      I get 27% of $5 as rakeback

0.005$ is deducted from NET RAKE, not from RAKEBACK

net rake = money that u paid from pots
27% of net rake is rakeback

so, by using 1000 FTPs u lose 5usd from your net rake = just 1,35 usd you would get by rakeback

If you spend 1k points in the shop you will get $1,35 less rakeback (0.005 * points *27%).

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

      Cheers,

Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support.

I can confirm that any time you spend FTPs in our online store, this will negatively effect your rakeback bonus.

Any purchases made using Iron Man medals or Academy Credits, will not effect your rakeback bonus.

As a result, should you purchase any Tournament Tickets using Iron Man medals or Academy Credits, this will have no impact on your rakeback.

If there's anything else we can help you with, please let us know. We're always here to help.

      Regards,
