Right, I understand what equity is and how it relates to EV but seriously, how do you guys learn equity in different spots?? I watch video's and the coaches will say something like we have 30% equity here and we need x equity to call and then they'll bring up equilator or whatever and prove that they did indeed have 30% equity...

How do they know this? Surely it can't be calculated while playing? And it seems to me that there are soooo many different situations it's practically impossible to get a 'feel' for it that is accurate. Or is this it? Just analysing hand histories and checking the equity out which eventually leads to you getting a good feel for it?

I feel a little lost at the moment but I know that I need to be working this stuff out... It just doesn't seem to be sinking in although I've not long been putting serious thought into it.
