fold, fold, Hero raises to $1.50, BTN calls $1.50, fold, fold

      FLOP ($3.75) 3:spade: T:club: 5:club:

Hero bets $2.75, BTN raises to $9, Hero calls $6.25

      TURN ($21.75) 3:spade: T:club: 5:club: 9:club:

Hero checks, BTN bets $13.50, [color=red]Hero raises to $88.80 (AI)

      villain is reg 17/12/2 raise cb 23%. 5% 3b.

Some history: villain played back with 44 on 778 bd in previous hand, running the bluff on the turn also to get me to fold overs.

As this board doesnt hit me very often, I assume this is a good spot to play back also - I doubt he raises sets this big since the board is not so drawy.

Whats the best way to combat this? Should I raise flop or wait until villain continues bettinh on turn and then shove with more dead money?

your hand is very strong but at the same time still A high, so if you miss flop and turn you can´t really call him down.
Also good thing is he is raising flop smt like 66, JT he would very likely fold if you 3b flop+ he would get all-in worse flushdraws, so I like 3-betting flop and likely shoving any turn card, maybe I would check A and flushcards to let him bluff, although likely then bet smt like 1/5th pot and shove river.
If you take b/c line on the flop I think you have to c/rai also blank turn cards, since again you can´t really call him down with A high and he would b/c worse draws+ he may b/f better hands, since your line looks so strong
