Hero checks, BTN bets $7.40, Hero folds

      BTN wins $5.23

I called OOP because he was playing 78/22 over almost 40 hands. Figured he might had small pp or even small Ax (A6, A3). What would be the best way to play this?

he is 78/22. What about his 3B?
If he is 3Betting a lot you can call.

But I'd say wait for better spots and fold pre.

      Fold prefop OOP is alright!

The problem with At is that you dont know where you are standing.
The Odds to call seem to be nice, however i dont see any value in the Call OOP.

      Clear Call IP

If you´re fine stacking off if you hit your T or A then I guess you can call pf, but generally I´d just fold.
He is usually not 3-betting worse hands and on Axx boards he is going to stack you with better hands
