      Bad timing because it's the wrong opponent you're doingit against, yes ;) .

      He is so tight that AJ+ makes up for most of his range - try to give him a callingrange preflop and you'll see that SCs as well as PPs as well as Ax hit this board somewhat, so there's not all that much left that he can bet/fold here.
      He is somewhat unlikely to be pure bluffing as he's a nit and nits generally wait for strong hands to put money in the pot.

      One last thing to consider is, that most people will put you on Ax, so a K or a Q would be much better cards to do this - on the A they expect you to have it so they're not bluffing too much, therefore we cannot get them to fold too many hands.
