Firstly i am a winning poker player. Secondly I can quit when down fairly easily. After I leave the tables down money I feel sad when doing other things absolutly nonpoker related. Do u guys also feel this way?

personaly i dont but im sure you play for much higher stakes than me,

imo you should learn to disasociate however you spell it from RL or at least your results anyway eventualy it will start affecting you next time you sit at the tables

It would be much more weird if you would feel happy after leaving table while being down.

i know the feeling, i only play microstakes but losing a few dollars online feels 100 times worse than losing it elsewhere.

I dont see why really unless youve donked and spewed the money away if youve played well theres no reason to not be happy really

Yeah we all know that, but its easier said then done especially when your really down a lot of $$$ :)

If it makes you feel any better most people have that problem.

Yup, ideally your mindset should be that good. But as we all know, practice differs from theory. We're all just humans :)

I don't really have that problem.. Somehow manage to unplug completely from the poker world when I'm doing other stuff..
but I don't play for huge sums of money but you knoow...

But in those rare cases I get really tilted I usually take a shower and brush it off before continuing the day =) ( It's relaxing and you get to think logically with your self for few minutes.. and obviously realizing feeling bad won't make you feel better =) )

I've heard about a lot of pros saying their friends/girlfriends, parents, siblings or whatever can actually tell when they're having a good day or a bad day at the tables... I haven't had a moment like that yet =)

don't look at the stupid cashier, you will still know if you are down but not knowing exactly how much will help to not feel sad.

if you still feel sad , well ... god created porn for a reason

I know what you speak about i5bet, I always talk about my sick badbeats to my friends, I even say it to my mom, simply because she asks, "why you look, like you wanna kill somebody?"..sadly sick losses or just a very sick bad beat can fuckup my mood, and everyone will know when I lost a big hand.. my poor gf knows this the most, but I cant really stop it, I feel my heart beats faster I'm getting warmer, like its a fever and just feeling like..u know, full of rage and shit.. this is in peoples temper, some does this, some will never do.. im the one with temper sadly.. wish I didnt have this..but I believe it can be removed with practice..1year ago if I lost 2flips in a row I was really like the most pessimistic (why should i raise this AA i gonna loose it anyway... style like this) but these days I only get mad when I lose big pots, like 300bb+ pots..so I guess there is a way to eliminate feelings from poker and poker from real life.. ohh I just got it... why dont you have a meeting with phil ? i heard he knows about this stuff alot..you know..ivey :D

only when ive had a really horrible day where nothing went my way, losing with top pair and nut flush to full house on the river for example... when simply the most unlikely scenarios all manifest on a single day lol... but other than that, if i know i played well i have nothing to be sad about cuz, thats all you can do, play your best game...

Even when i go out with friends I feel that I am less upbeat/ talkative after a losing a session (ofc alcohol gets rid of that problem :s_biggrin: ).

I tend to get annoyed when I've made stupid or undefendable plays. If I'm down cash that doesn't bother me so much as long as I'm playing okay.

If it's bothering you, you need to find a way to not look at your tracker/cashier more than once or twice a week. Possibly increasing your BRM is one way (ie you can have bigger swings without having to move down so you don't need to look as often), or if your BRM is fine, then just don't look at it. Anyway, the mechanics are up to you, but it is worth putting a method in place if this is an issue for you.

      IMHO LDO.

why is that if you know you'll make that 1k next day?
      but i think i know why :D

when my mother has a bad day at her workplace - something like many emergency cases, many bad/ugly cases, lot of stress(she's a nurse and she runs/works like hell when thoes cases arrive) - she comes home and don't want to talk at all. We can spot when she had a bad day because she only says hi.

probably something like that is happening to you.
Poker is your job and every day you lose 1K, is a bad day. And that bad day affects you. Probably is not about the money, is about having a good/bad day.

you should not let your problems from work affect your personal life :)
how do you do that? ... I don't know... probably by changing your mentality/mindset/perspective

I should stop talking now because i'm a microstaker and i don't really know how it is to lose 1k in one day.

      hope it helps
      GL!
