Moving up plan

I want make my plan about shoting at 0.5/1

history - you can sckip this part:
I took like 10 shots and I lost every time pretty much because of tilt.

I tilted bad and I started to lose at 0.25$/0.5$ and I had to move to 0.10$/0.20$ for a while.

I talked to boomer and he told me that my game is ok - with few adjustements i should stay at 0.5$/1$(I sent him a video for evaluation a while ago)
That chat just put a lot of confidence in me => my bad/frustruation/tilt period was just history.

now i am playing 0.25$/0.5$, I build my BR.
I want to move at 0.5$/1$ as soon as i can and take shots at 1$/2$ as soon as I can.

my plan is to have a safe BR for 0.25$/0.5$ (500BB) and some extra BBs for the new limit. my question is: how many BBs should i invest in the shot?

      what method is faster?
      1. invest 100-150BB
      2. invest 250-350BB
      3. grind until I have 500BB extra and move up

For method 1. I must have 250$(500BB for 0.25/0.5) + 100$(100BBs for 0.5$/1$). If i lose that extra 100$, i move back and build again.

I know what invelves every method
-method 1 is more about luck/goodrun and method3 is more about grinding until I have a supersafe BR and m2 is something between them.

I want to move as soon as I can.
My question is: what method brings the fastest move?
aparently 1st method is the fastes, but i know that i can lose that 100BBs very easy...
I think i just answered myself just now - but i still post this to get your feedback.
-if i use method 1 and lose first time I try, second try is like i chosed method2 from the first place.
-if i lose 4-5 times, it is like i chosed mehtod 3 from the first place.
so method 1 is the fastest.

now that i answered myself i just post this to get some feedback.

      I think i will use method 1

The xyz number of BB to play certain limit is a myth since there is no real number that can be certain. I would personally never do it with less than 300BB but would change this number on my personal tolerance/confort factor.
For these micro/small stakes I used around 350BBs and did very fine. When boomer says your game is o.k. you should be good with 450$ on 0,5/1 :)

Going above 1/2 I would start with 500BB as minimum and then obviously change it.I tend to be overbankroled, 1500BB+ :) :)

most importantly, have enough so that you will not get frustrated by every single bad beat and thinking that your br droped too much to play.

Man you make me sound like an ogre :s_o:

      Ty though :s_biggrin:

I'm actually in the near future going to record some videos for you guys at 0.5/1 and 1/2 so hope you'll gain something from them.

Personally at micros I'd follow what Dawnfall says for the most part:

Make sure you have 500BB for one below your standard limit so you can move down and be comfortable and take 50-100BB shots at the limit above once you hit 300BB for your new limit as your bankroll permits. I'd increase this for 1/2 and up as the variance increases.

      0.25/0.5 - Must have minimum $100 Shot-take @ 0.5/1 on $300 ($350 for 100BB shot)
      0.5/1 - Always have $250, Shot-take at 1/2 on $600 ($700 for 100BB shot)
      1/2 - Always have $500, Shot-take at 2/4 on $1400 (Always 100BB shot)

As with everything, depends on your personal exposure and RoR you're willing to tolerate but as long as you're always willing to move down there's no reason you can't shot-take aggressively

      Gogo cataah. Gl.

Nice insight there dawnfall. It all depends how you look at money and how high are you willing to go.

Phil Galfon took a shot at nl100k with 5 stacks :)

I tend to have between 100BIs for the limits.
