      so what to do over here? he was nit but I believe he would reraise with JJ QQ KK AA and 5 is not likely to be here. So I 3bet him. How should I have played, I put him on small poker pair.

      Well played, even if he had jacks (which is possible, cuz 3bet it is not that great) he could easily fold that cuz 4betting here is strong and he put u on KK,AA,QQ

      Since we want to keep small PPs in play and as well maybe sometimes even some bluffs. I am just Calling his raise and reevaluating it on further streets and likely betting for value there. He will have hard time Calling you with a lot worse like 88,99 even. If you ask yourself and putting yourself into his spot, what would you do vs such a line with 88,99? I would for example for since I am putting you on a higher PP while you could still get value from him on later streets.
