      Hello there,

I decided to start using SSS on fulltilt with my 50$ starting capital, but I am having doubts about it.

Made a thread here on another SSS subject, but was kinda put off by the first poster saying that SSS isin't really viable anymore.

      So, fellow shortstackers,
is SSS still viable and is it a good strategy to try and make some money with the 50$ starting capital?

      Hey there,

I guess they have a new strategy called "MSS" which is not specifically the SSS strategy of old, apparently. I'll have to check it out... :s_confused:

All I click is "Strategy" and then "No-Limit Short Stack Strategy." I see these options listed under Basic:

      MSS - Introduction
MSS - How to Play Before the Flop
MSS - How to Play After the Flop
What is the Short Stack Strategy?
How to Play Before the Flop
How to Play After the Flop

Maybe you can't see them because you are Basic? Of course, they used to say "SSS" instead of "MSS."

You can still play SSS on FT but only on the shallow tables.

When you get to gold level you will find tables to adjust to other short stack players.

It looks complicated to me... All of these charts and trying to follow them during play would be a headache. But... If you take the - long - time to memorize this stuff you will have a pretty brain-dead strategy that will bring in the coin. You could play BSS for a few hours and then go into MSS Cruise Control for the rest of the day and still make cash...

      Elaborationing: :s_biggrin:

Different tables have different buy-ins. I think Full Tilt's standard tables are 35bb - 100bb. Pokersites also have tables that are 20bb-50bb, and more to choose from. bb = Big Blinds.

I think that the Rush tables are a minimum of 35BB. You could play MSS on them and it would be good to do so because you always have a full table of opponents. Playing on regular tables will see players come and go and you need at least 7 or 8 players for MSS to work it says...

Ill say probably not at offpeak times, cos the shallow tables are going to be pretty unpopulated if you plan on multi-tabling, and as a SSS or an MSSer id assume this would be the case.

so the MSS provides a good way to go to normal tables and have a very strong preflop strategy.

a good way to go would be to read all the articles and make notes, then print/find a way to bring up the charts(a second monitor is how i do it.)

also another place for some learning materials, is the video section, the main SSS coach here Gerv(our god and saviour.) at pokerstrategy is also now doing MSS.

These provide a basic view of what he is doing, and why he is doing that.

He is doing some leakfinder videos in the upcoming future also which I'm sure will also be very good.

Another place to get more info on the MSS is the study group we've just set up, joining here will provide you with an active place to answer all and any question's you may have, and will give you a head start with the MSS.
