Yet another post complaining about bad beats (I warn you now) but I guess this is the place to do it.

I have been doing very well at NL5 then NL10 for about 2 months, started with the 50 dollars and have turned it into $570. I usually like the BRM system of 20 BI's then I try to take a shot at the next level up... if I end up losing over two BI's then I go back down and start grinding until I can take my next "shot".

So today I took my shot at NL25, I wanted to wait a bit with my BR so that I would have a decent chance staying at this limit, hence the $570 not $500. But it has just been a horrible day, I realize that the caliber of player at NL25 is much greater than NL10 but the spots I've been getting myself into have been terrible and have been sucked out several times for entire stacks. Here's a couple hands to demonstrate what I've been going through.

Another spot was set over set, over pair vs over pair where he made a set on the river and top two vs top pair and hit other card on river.

I know it's just the variance of the game and that I shouldn't stress it. Constantly getting your money in with 70 - 80% equity will work out for me in the long run right? It just sucks that this bad beat happened at NL25.

Anyway I'm currently down 6 BI's and am going to stop for the day and start again at NL10 tomorrow, not too far off from taking another shot, especially because 50 of this was a ring game ticket, just have to stick to my BRM and hopefully I'll be able to move up one day. :D

Any advice on taking shots or the difference in moving up limits? Past experiences?
