Im kinda addicted I guess. But since it comes with nice amount of $, I dont care much
btw.. If she doesnt understand what poker it is and see it only as a gambling, then its just normal reaction from her.. For example, first time I was in casino to look what games is running, there was some epic fish who said: "Slots if profitable, if you know when to stop". So its understandable, if she doesnt know what poker is..

God she wants to divorce from you because of poker? I mean there are many worse ways to spend your time than playing game you love and making money while doing so.

Im addicted to poker, i admit that.. i dont really have any problems because of that, maybe the only thing is that im a lot more lazy than i used to be.

It's nice,i would go as far and say beautiful to be addicted to something,as long as it doesn't hurt you or anyone else around you (taking money from fishes or regs alike is excluded :s_evil: ).

If you don't start to sell your house, your possesions to get money just to play poker (the stereotype of a gambler portrayed in a lot of poker movies) and thus affecting your family and yourself. It's ok.

And of course,if you don't play for long periods of time without food, decent sleep time, water,or any other shortage that will cause you health problems,dude....

      IT'S OK!

As soon as the games dry out I stop playing... so even if I was addicted there would not be a lot of value to extract from it. I don't like to play tired too, so addiction has no space on my head. :s_cool:

I'm not "addicted" per se. Honestly, I look forward to the challenge every day. I guess I'm "addicted" to the challenge. I can't speak for women poker players, but as a man, I NEED some sort of battle/challenge/competition in my life. Otherwise, I feel unfulfilled.

As a man, the battle is something I need for happiness, so I don't think one can get "addicted" to a fundemental human need.

If you don't go to certain meetings, that doesn't mean you are not an addict.

there is too much negativity associated with the word "addicted"

Enthusiastically devoted to a particular thing or activity

Surely this has to be a good thing. From my experience everything that i do in poker helps in other aspects of life BRM, time management, people reading skills, decision making, maths, sucking up bad beats, not letting variance affect you (or trying) always playing at 100% to get best results etc. Being "addicted" only makes me want to improve all these skills which helps even more in day to day life. Also playing poker has made me about 100 times more confident but i dunno what i put that down to.

I think we are all addicted at least under the definition at the top otherwise we wouldnt be here.

@OP- You had many good live results?

I prefer 'obsessed' to 'addicted'. Obsessions can be healthy.

No guys... addicted and obsessed are drawing dead.

The best word ever is "committed". You can even run the risk of impressing someone when you say you're committed to poker... or you may not.

It's like freerolling in PLO, got it? :s_cool:

i don't think i'm addicted anymore, used to be though, wanted to play all the time when i was working. Now that I'm not working and I have time to play I find it hard to get motivated.

My brains shit the way it does that.
