      Hi,

      A large pot preflop is a start of the process in order to determine when you can call or not:
      1) Determine your pot odds
      2) Give Mp3, BU, SB a range
      3) Equilate your range and compare it versus the pot odds 1)

      Then decide when you can call

      Best regards,
      Gerv

      thank you for the reply gerv. i like how you dont give the answer, but instead show me how to find it, its better to learn this way :)

      1) pot odds are 4:1 because we know no one is folding for a 40c raise lol

      2) I didnt have any reads, so put all villians on JJ+, AK.

      3) I get around 18% equity, thats less than 5:1, compared to the pot odds this is -ev?

      so it would be a fold preflop?

      the only hands i should be calling with are KK and AA?

      im sure ive worked it out correct :f_biggrin:

      You get roughly 3:1 if you decide to ship it in with TT.
      What is more important is your equity here;

      Indeed if you put three opponents on JJ+,AK - your equity is

             Equity     Win     Tie
      MP2    27.34%  24.43%   2.91% { JJ+, AKs, AKo }
      MP3    27.41%  24.48%   2.93% { JJ+, AKs, AKo }
      CO     27.54%  24.61%   2.93% { JJ+, AKs, AKo }
      BU     17.71%  17.61%   0.09% { TT }

      Meager 17% while 3:1 = 25% so we should fold preflop then

      I am sure at least 1 guy has this range so if we modify it abit we get:

             Equity     Win     Tie
      MP2    31.25%  29.03%   2.22% { JJ+, AKs, AKo }
      MP3    24.06%  21.98%   2.08% { 99+, AJs+, AKo }
      CO     25.18%  23.10%   2.08% { JJ+, AJs+, AQo+ }
      BU     19.52%  19.26%   0.26% { TT }

      We still end up with 19.5%.

      The range we should call is in scenario #1:

      Scenario #2:
