I 3bet 2.5x because these guys call too much (OOP/IP doesn't matter) and I want some room for a cbet postflop. I took this from the spanish community articles, they advise 2.5x IP and 3x OOP. Of course, for pure value (QQ+) I'm raising 3x all the time. Also, they're so dumb, if I hit and check behind some flops they would still pay me turn&river with second pairs so it's a less risky approach :D

I think the 1$ bet on the flop is callable (pot odds 1/6) because I expect any hands from them not just AJ, KJ, AT etc, so my A and K are outs, plus the queens which give me the nuts but one of the queens completes a flushdraw (and a redraw for me) so I'm not sure if it wasn't wasted money.

What is the difference between this:

Pre: you 3bet to $1 with 39bb ES
      Pot (2 players: $2.35
      Effective stack on flop: $2.9

Pre: You 3bet to $1.2 with 39bb ES
      Pot (2 players) : $2.75
      Effective stack: $2.7

What room do you create here?♦

I do not like your flop call at all, you have discounted outs in both the A & K way but also there can be a flushdraw present

Meh, I don't expect calls behind my 3bet so often, especially with AJo -_-, but in heads-up I can make a cbet without remaining with less than 25% of my initial stack.

      Sorry, I missunderstood :D
In the standard situation of 1 initial raiser and 1 3bettor :
If I 3bet to 1$, then the pot is 1+1+0.15=2.15$. Why did you say 2.35$? I can make a 1$ cbet and still have 2$ behind.

If I 3bet to 1.2$ then the pot is 1.2+1.2+0.15=2.55$ and I have 2.8$ behind, I can't cbet and I can't shove for value when the board is scary because it's an overbet.

a 50% cbet on micro's just looks appealing for them to peel off and you don't hit so often to make it profitable with just FEQ and hardly PEQ.

Hence I go more for the brute force method which is more the latter one because it guarantees me easy play, easy EV and possibly even maxEV
