# Weird rake on William Hill

Maybe I did not realize this on other poker rooms I played, but ah... heck..

I was playing some PLO now and noticed the following... there was an \$0.80 pot and a guy bet \$0.80 on it. There were 2 players, so the other one folded.

I think (and correct me if I'm wrong, please) that in PS or FT the uncalled bet is returned to the player and ONLY THEN the rake is applied on the pot, right?

In WH I saw the \$1.60 pot (\$0.80 that was already there + \$0.80 of the uncalled bet) be raked and the player got only \$1.56

Is this like this in the other sites too? Sometimes I bet some \$10 more on the pot and people fold, and my uncalled bet of \$10 gets raked WITH the pot, instead of being returned integrally before the pot being raked.

Weird.

The uncalled bet was not raked. The rake was 5%.

10% of 80c = 8c

therefore 5% = 0.5*8c = 4c

So the pot is correct. 80c returned to bettor

rake from pot in middle = 0.5*80c = 4c (at 5% rake)

therefore 80c (the pot size)- 4c(the rake) = 76c

76c(raked pot) plus 80c (returned bet)

= \$1.56c

Hum... nice reasoning, sir! Thanks for the insight!
