      Villain 9/7 over 45 hands.

Pre - I think against such a tight player I have the implied odds should I hit my set therefore I call.

On the flop I give up, I am pretty confident he is check raising here, I see that so often. Ideal board for cbet and they don´t. Ain´t worth stabbing I think.

      Hello acceleration123,

Seems to be fine. But more often I'd prefer to be against full stacks. But as played really depends on his CBet %. If it's really huge then I would as well give it up but if not then I'd even try to take down the pot.

      Best regards.

I would fold pre to his 3bet.

The odds proflop are 16:1. So basically they ain't that bad for set-mining. Although that's true more often I'd prefer having a bit better and vs full stack.

But if we use the rule of 20, we should aim to make $5 which we are not likely to do without full stacks at 5NL- so a fold is best. Or have I misunderstood?

If we use Call20 rule then yes, rather fold but it's not a must rule. You can still Call with even getting like 16:1. :) If he anyways expect to get his stack when we do hit then we can even Call.
