Ah, new months, new opportunities, way too much of the same crap. Once again I'm falling victim to the opportunistic nature of man. I am starting a blog to track my progress through the limits of Fixed Limit on Pokerstars.

I'm not that interesting when it comes to background story, but I'm down 'a lot' on Pokerstars on cashgames and sng's. I think a total of $500. Thanks to 1-tabling limits I wasn't rolled for and taking 10BI shots on way too high sng limits. Thank God for bonushunting on other poker sites so I'm actually up in my total 'career'. All that must come to a stop now. I will start with a $50 bankroll and hope to be able to cash out some profits at the end of the month to pay for some parties. Any bonuses earned will 100% go to the cash out funds. Let's see how much I'll be able to drink in August thanks to my outstanding play in July. I will keep playing 0.10/0.20 FL 6m until I reach 500BB for the next limit ($250). With most of my profits (hopefully!) going to the cash out funds I realize I'll be on this limit for a while, I don't mind though.

A fellow LHE player on a local forum climbed the limits and is now playing a mix of 2/4, 3/6, 5/10 and 10/20 so he is in some sense the inspiration of trying to go for this. I will use July to see how well I can cope with enormous amounts of minbetting and hope I will come out on top at the end of the month when I re-evaluate.

      GOALS JULY 2011

[] Play ONLY 0.10/0.20 FL 6m on Pokerstars
      [] Play 20,000 hands
[] Actually be a winning player of that sample (winning being anything > 0.00BB/100, with a personal hope of 2BB/100) excluding bonuses
[] Update this blog numerous times a week, I don't want this to be a two week thing this time.
[] Keeping Silver status on PokerStrategy
[] Getting Gold status on Pokerstrategy

NEW GOAL ADDED ON JULY 6

[ ] Getting Silverstar status on Pokerstars

Going to hit the tables now, I'll play 3-4 tables at a time so the volume should be sufficient. Hope my first update will be a good one!

So I totally forgot I had a band rehearsal today so I obviously skipped the session earlier. Opened some tables and it took me around 120 hands to realize I was too tired to concentrate on the games so I decided to stop my first day way early :)

      Hero lost 5.5 BB
      jocker79554 lost 1.5 BB
      Monserge lost 1.0 BB

Not too sure about my line, because on the turn there are really only three combo's that beat me, QQ, Q8 and Q5. I believe he would play Qx very aggressively here, together with A8, K8, perhaps even J8. 77+ are in his range too. Should I 4bet turn and try to stick as much in as possible? :f_confused:

      Hey NIVEKii,

I have no experience on the fixed limit hold em but it looks like to me that you have some good goals here.

I am sure this blog will become great!

      Welcome and take care!

I certainly cap turn and raise river with 88.

I think those, long term, are missed bets.

Started out with a lot of good intentions, but I think I'm getting sick. Not feeling optimal and cut my morning session short (again, like my evening session yesterday). I shouldn't be playing when I'm not feeling 100% obviously, but if this goes on for a couple of more days I'm afraid I won't get the 20k hands in.

Anyhow, results of the morning session:

      Time played: 37 mins
      Results: + 15.4BB
      Hands played: 229

      Total for the month:

      Time played: 1.03h
      Results: + 12.6BB
      Hands played: 362/20,000

Didn't come across any noteworthy hands, just standard bet bet bet when I had a hand and opponents showed weakness.

Played a decent session, got quite a few hands in, ran well, hit good, donks paid my monsters, pretty standard :p

This hand made me think, I get 14 to 1 or something on that river, although, due to the line he took, I was pretty sure he had KK or QQ. I decided to bet bet bet as long as they didn't show resistance, because they only raise on these limits when they have a very strong hand. Mafkees51 played like 95/27 over 50-60 hands, annytiggar seems a "regular". Obviously I can fold river, but come on, 14 to 1 odds. That being said, not sure what hands would raise river there that I have beat.

All in all, can't complain, at this pace I should get the 20k hands mark well before the month is up, hope the results keep this positive and most importantly, that my game improves for August, where I can hopefully get my 500BB roll for the next level in September.

Alright, regged to a 6m sng 235FPP sat to the $11 20k GTD and shipped a ticket. Not too sure if I should unreg and collect the T-USD or try and make a run for it...

I registered a Pocketfives.com account today so I'll probably try to get a third MTT cash on that one, my previous ones being a pretty good run in the 1/4 Mill and apparently a 75/3,037 position in a $1 Micro Mania MTT or something.

Ah well, I'll just look those results up and post them here:

      Jul 11th, 2010 / MicroMania $1 NLHE Special [$1,000 Added]: 75/3,037 for $6.45
      Sep 12th, 2010 / $11 Sunday ¼ Million [$250K Guaranteed]: 875/28,687 for $63.11

Guess I'll just try to look a little more pro on my P5 acc with a third cash. MTT pro's watch out!

Still in the 20k with around 1k players left. Top 360 get paid out. Got kind of shortish and couldn't find a spot to shove. Average stack was getting to 7k and then I got AQs.

Out in 400th place, obviously couldn't win the 77 vs AQo flip when it mattered. Not that I'd go far anyhow, was floating between 5-12bb's for the last 90 minutes. Kind of sucks I didn't cash though.

Skipped on my morning session, wasn't feeling like it. Railed some 100nl reg on Mikogo and asked some questions. Nothing that could really help me with my FL play, but fun none the less.

I have nowhere to go tonight, had to cancel two rehearsals this week because I'm sick. Actually I don't have anything to do today, so I'm going to pick up the pace this afternoon and hopefully record a monstersession, both playing A-game wise as BB profits wise! Hope to at least break the 2k hands mark today.

Hey Wendy, it feels good to be back and more importantly, be back with a goal. Althought it's microlimits I'm having fun playing poker, and that is just as important as winning $$.

I can't seem to play sessions longer than 60 minutes. It's really strange, I could play for three hours straight last year and still have the urge to grind it out, but nowadays I feel my focus (and enjoyment in the game) drop quite quick. Anyone else had this 'problem'?

I hope with playing more I can steadily improve the length of my sessions without losing too much concentration... Especially if I want to climb up limits and become an FPP pro :megusta:

Just as I said I couldn't handle longer sessions I recorded a 159 minutes session that went quite ok, not to say, excellent. A perfect mixture of terribad players and the best rungood I've had in more than a year are resulting in the start of an epic graph, that is to say, if the downswing doesn't come immediately. Something I'm not hoping for!

      Last session:
      Time played: 159.5 mins
      Results: +69.8BB
      Hands played: 823

      Today's results:
      Time played: 204.7 mins
      Results: +95.45BB
      Hands played: 1,073

      Monthly results:

      Time played: 6.60h
      Results: +116.5BB
      Hands played: 2,164/20,000
      Silverstar goal: 108.74/750

Obviously I'm very happy that I'm running this good. The players do allow for good winrates though. Will post graphs for every 2k hands I add to my monthly total. Time for the first one! Also, since I'm going for Pokerstars Silverstar, I'll add my VPP counter too from now on. Still a bit behind on Silverstar pace, but I didn't play any hands until yesterday basically so that'll be ok too. I've added the goal to my OP.
