Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

      Play hand

      $0.05/$0.1 No-Limit Hold'em (4 handed)

      Known players:
      BU (Hero):

Preflop: Hero is BU with A, 8.
CO folds, Hero raises to $0.40, SB folds, BB calls $0.30.

      Flop: ($0.85) 4, Q, J (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.60, BB calls $0.60.

      Turn: ($2.05) 8 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.90, BB raises to $3.15, Hero calls $2.25.

      River: ($8.35) 5 (2 players)
BB bets $6.14, Hero folds, BB gets uncalled bet back.

      Final Pot: $8.35.

No reads on villain as he had just sat down. But I expected him to call a turn shove so I just called his raise. I also expected him to call or shove river, giving me enough implied odds to call turn - yes?

      Hello ILuvBeachVB,

Doesn't make sense to 2nd barrel there while you even don't have any reads. Rather just Check it behind. Most likely he ain't gonna fold the hand what he Called on flop.

And as played why do you bet so smallish? You just induce him to raise you. If you want to 2nd barrel then it should be definitely bigger ~$1,60. And about the implied odds it's pretty close because he may easily even have any kind of sets. And if we discount our outs then we can't Call there and I'd be more inclined to do that so Bet/Fold.

      Best regards.
