Hello people of the Poker Strategy forum. My name is Rickie and I'm from Leicester in the United Kingdom. Leicester is located in the Midlands, which is north of London, and we are mainly recognised because of how multicultural our city is. I used to come on here a while back in an attempt to see if I could somehow get a hold of the free $50 starting capital but as I was underage it didn't let me. I used to play quite a lot of online poker on FullTilt over a year ago and managed to turn $50 in to $500. As happy as I was, as soon as I reached that amount of money I decided to play without using bankroll management and brought it all the way back down to around $100. I felt that it was because I played impatiently and I had a lack of experience in comparison to my opponents. This was the point where I decided to withdraw my entire bankroll and stopped playing.

I have been eighteen since February but I became rather lazy and didn't get any identification until a few weeks ago because me, my girlfriend and some of her family took an incredible holiday to the coast of Algarve in Portugal. I went to the local casino over there, played a few games of roulette and came out with a 20% profit. It was a fun experience but I never got to play any poker because the tables were out of use.

Since I got back from Portugal I have had a massive urge to play poker again, get some help from this website and it's users and then gradually build my bankroll up in to some decent money where I am able to withdraw a good amount to help me out financially. I know that sounds ambitious but I have been highly competitive from a young age, with basketball, gaming and other things.

At the minute, I feel ashamed to say I play like a fish. I seem to play my hands averagely, not maximising their profit and overprotecting big hands. I also get impatient and play average hands such as KQ-KTo and suited connectors out of position, leaving me often without much luck. I know some of my mistakes but I'm not sure how to get over them at this moment in time. I currently play on Ladbrokes but will also be playing on PartyPoker once my $50 starting capital eventually comes through.

      Thanks for the read. :f_p:

      Hi Rickie,

Welcome to PokerStrategy.com and to the wonderful English Community!

Thank you for introducing yourself and I hope you really enjoy your time here and become really involved in this community.

There are plenty of articles and videos available to you once your starting capital comes through, so make sure you take some time to study all available material and then go crush the tables!

I wish you the very best of luck,

      Regards,
      Gary

I guess my introduction was a little boring. Never mind. I received my $50 starting capital two days ago. In the first day I braved playing $6 SNGs which didn't turn out very well. I played using the Sit and Go strategies and seemed to have dominating hands cracked a lot, even though I shipped it pre-flop the majority of the time. My luck was running pretty bad and so I decided to stop playing for the rest of the day, realising that I was $20 down through playing at the wrong level. I feel that if I did have the bankroll at that limit then I would cope pretty well.

The next day was different and I had a completely different frame of mind. I was feeling very positive. I attended a live poker night at a local pub close to my house and placed second, losing 99 to A6 of spades in the final hand. It wasn't very nice but it didn't phase me. I'll be going to the next one this upcoming Wednesday and if I do well then I will qualify for the playoffs. If I win the playoffs then I will gain a seat at a casino in Nottingham for a big MTT, offering some good money prizes. I settled down and started playing $1 SNGs, using the basic and bronze Sit and Go strategies, and was winning around 60% of my games and cashing in 80%.

I am currently on PartyPoker and my bankroll is $61. I'm watching some highlights from the WSOP and afterwards I will have a nice warm bath and some breakfast. Once that's all over I shall play for approximately two hours, doing two tables at a time, as it is all I can cope with at the minute, and then go visit my girlfriend as I need to use her computer to create a CV. I may be getting another job at a shoe store as my current one isn't very promising.

Thank you. I was hoping to at least get a little bit of recognition for it, aha. I've learned all about bankroll management in the past but I'll be sure to freshen my memory very soon. I will be starting a blog as soon as I can, I just need to get everything together first. I've set up a thread in the PartyPoker section asking about the hand history because I can't find it. If anybody can help me out with that then it will be massively appreciated.

I'm considering downloading some temporary basic software to help me out a little. I feel as if I'm becoming more of a regular among the $1 PartyPoker SNG Turbos and at the minute I'm pretty much dominating it.

Oh, and don't worry - I'll ship it all! :f_p:
