      I was thinking about check/calling the river if he bet a normal amount but then he bets 12 into 9 which I figured almost had to be a flush.

      Hello Maniatrix,

      Depends really on your intention and your reads on the opponent. We could take it this way as well that if he really is value-betting then why does he overbet like this? Rather looks like he wants to gain maximum fold equity. Therefore without reads it's hard to say what's his playstyle. And most likely folding is the safest play.
