Did I overplay this way too much?
Should I 3bet for value pre considering he never folds to 3bet?
Should I have rather just gone for check/call from flop to river?

      Hello Maniatrix,

A bit overplaying the flop. What hands do you expect him to pick such a line? I'd really be rather inclined even to make the crying fold there rather than continue. Also even if I am Calling the flop then most likely Check/Fold the turn.

Should I 3bet for value pre considering he never folds to 3bet?

Nah, calling is totally fine for just set value and sometimes even overpair but don't overplay it.

Should I have rather just gone for check/call from flop to river?

What hands do you beat on river if you even Check/Call?

      Best regards.

I guess there are very few hands that would 3barrel that I beat. 98,99 maybe. I thought his betsizing on the flop looked weak as well. Every time I see such a tiny bet I interpret it as weakness, though sometimes it's a trap. This time it was a flopped set.

Rarely doubt he would play that kind of hand so aggressively.
