to start u should read this

      http://fr.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?threadid=63994&threadview=0&hilight=&hilightuser=0&page=1

sorry its in french but u guy jsut as to ur community to transalte that

is that more profitable to play CG or SNG

its all depend of ur ROI but keep in mind that CG low stake the rake is more expensive

what is the best way to progress in hu sng

Try to play some 4 man shoutout in a team with someone that has a different style then ur the reason is that when discuss of poker thru skype or msn both of u will have differrent opinion of the game and ur edge is better if u play with someone that has a different style

      what style should i play

Each style are good in poker its all depend on how u adapt ur style to vilain

What is the BRM i need to play hu sng

Its all depend on how confortable u feel when u play some player need only 10 buy in some need 100 buy in
also depend of the type of game u play if its deep stack or regular speed hyper turbo

the more the game is swallow the more money u need to handle the variance

      live sweat coaching

these tips are good for every single live coaching u guy will listen

1- DONT TRY TO DO WHAT THE COACH DO BUT try to understand why he is doing this or that

when u watch a live coaching session try to understand the thinking process of the coach not the move but the reason why in this spot vs this particilar type of player he is doing this

if understand then u can do it in futur into ur game but i least u will KNOW why u doing this

      2-UNDERSTAND THE COACH STYLE

remember that each style are different even ur coach this mean that when he said something try to understand his agression factor and u also need to know YOUR agression factor this mean that when he said something always keep in mind if the coach is more agressif then u then you adapt what he said to you agression

when u post a hand history

we need information of the game

      blind level

      the agression of the player

      ur own agression

      we need stack size

if u post a hand with no information then the hh doesnt mean nothing

the more information u give the better is to analyze the hand

dont be shy to put a lot of information

      :s_cool: :s_cool:

i will come once in a while to analyze ur hand history only in this thread :s_o:

      to know

      i m iloveyou1 on ftp

      alloman on stars
      alloman on cake
      alloman001 on everest
      peacemanx01 on party

i think i have a very good knowledge of hu sng

i will try to help for my pur pleisur

and please dont be harsh with my english i know i do mistake when i type but dont focus on the texte mistake but the idea and the thinking process instead to enjoy :s_love: :s_love:

      Hey alloman

I love the idea of this thread, unfortunately pokerstrategy have not been really focused on hu sngs so far, hopefully this will change a bit with your appearance. :) I've just started playing HU sngs after a year of nl sh cash game experience. Which site and which limit do you think would be the best to start with? I mean, I have a bankroll of ~3000$ but I'm definitely not thinking of hitting the 50$ limit for obvious reasons. :D So for a HU SNG beginner, what do you recommend as a mid-term plan to become a regular?

its really depend of how u can adapt to the blind structure of each site have a diffrent structure

to become a regular u gonna have to face some good player

but at the beginning u cna easy bumhunt to get a good graph

when u move to mid stake like 50 to 500
u have to paly some regulars in order to get respect

once u get that respect they give u the lobby

gl if u have anymore question of hh post them here because like i said i dont have time to look on every post all over this site

      gl

Okay, thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. I decided to start on Pokerstars and play the 7$ turbo games.

      Grabbed by Holdem Manager
      NL Holdem $20(BB) Replayer
      ($1,500)
      Hero ($1,500)

      Dealt to Hero A:club: K:club:

[color=red]Hero raises to $50, raises to $1,500 (AI), Hero ???

First hand of the match against an unknown opponent, I know we should avoid coinflip situations but come on, we have AKs in a HU game. Call or fold in your opinion?

      ($1,430)
      Hero ($1,570)

      Dealt to Hero K:diamond: 5:spade:

Hero raises to $40, calls $20

      FLOP ($80) K:club: 5:club: 2:club:

checks, Hero bets $60, calls $60

      TURN ($200) K:club: 5:club: 2:club: J:spade:

bets $60, Hero raises to $250, calls $190

      RIVER ($700) K:club: 5:club: 2:club: J:spade: 7:spade:

[color=red]checks, Hero bets $540, raises to $1,080 (AI), Hero calls

Villain is a 76/39 agro-fish (?) after 20 hands. He appeared to be pretty active postflop, donking quite a lot in these 20 hands. I dont like my river betsize to be honest, but I decided to call because I expected him to raise all-in with 2 pair+ as a value and sometimes busted draws as a bluff. What do you think?

In the first hand, I would definitely call the AKs against an unknown at the $7s. I think calling anything tighter than JJ+, AK would be a significant mistake, and I would call even wider than that.

In the second hand, I like how you play all streets until the river. I agree that you should bet less at the river; as played though, you really can't bet/fold.

Thanks Collin, so a $200-250 b/f is recommended, isn't it? Anyway, welcome onboard and enjoy your stay here at pokerstrategy. :)

Even if you size your value bet a bit small, I'd still call his check-shove given your read that he's tricky post-flop and capable of check/shoving busted draws, as well as worse hands for value. He will sometimes show up with KJ, K7, a flush, or occasionally a set. But given your read, I think you'll be good often enough to justify a call given the odds.

And thanks for the nice words :)

      Hey again,

3rd or 4th hand of the match, no reads so far. Crying fold on the river since we never win this hand, just split ~70% of the time and lose ~30%?
