Hand consists of 5 cards! Remember that!
So he should have won because he has KQJ85 high flush! You only have QJ852 high flush.
So there are no such thing as flush and a pair of queens or flush with 2 jacks, because the hand then would consist of 6 cards, but only 5 cards count!

      Hi RTF

Your friend wins with a K high flush. You only have a Q high flush

to understand your had you have to take the 5 best cards out of the 7 (5 cards on the board and 2 in your hand)

in this case the 5 best cards for you are:

      Q :diamond: J :diamond: 8 :diamond: 4 :diamond: and 2 :diamond:

      and for your friend:

      K :diamond: Q :diamond: J :diamond: 8 :diamond: and 4 :diamond:

hence he wins (forget about the pairs) :)

      I hope this helps

also have a look at The rules of Texas Hold'em

      regards

      Thazar

Yeah that is what we are for you should always post if you are unsure about something :)

In holdem by the end of all the betting rounds you can see 7 cards from those 7 cards you make the best hand possible with just 5 of them.

If you read the link that thazar already kindly posted then everything will soon be clear.

Remember dont hesitate to post if you are stuck with anything else,

      Carl
