What else than a bluff could his play be here? I figured no one had anything to call this bet with on the river given how the hand had played out. I think villain is thinking that is exactly what I was thinking. Or he thinks I have a top pair that I would fold to a check raise, though that makes little sense since I wouldn't fold top pair to such a weird play. If he checks the nuts second last to act on the river with little chance of any action I would just have to pay him off with top pair.
Anyway I can't just call since he may be doing this with a small pocket pair so I shove. Ok line of thought?

Don´t see why you don´t just bet on the flop.
I would generally not shove river, since first he have to call 12$ into 67$ pot and also your line doesn´t make any sense, so even if he turned his QQ into bluff he may still stack off.
Most likely hand he had there Ax of hearts that can´t really call river bet. But if he really turn showdown value into bluff I guess shove is fine if you don´t think your AQ high isn´t good
