      Was taking villian to value town, and would have bet river for value too.

      However, given board pairs on river Ax now beats my hand so I felt that I had to give up on the plan.

      Don't think that you can do much in this kind of spot. Although sometimes I might even prefer just taking pot control on turn rather than isolate myself against better hands in multiway pot. They will anyways have hard time Calling with a lot worse.
