It's a bit too passive on the turn in my opinion. I would barrel again on the turn as he doesn't always have a flush draw on the flop, I would bet about $1.50 on the turn. Then, if call, on that river I would bet about $2.30, and fold if I was raised. A small bet on the river allows a lot of worse hands to call including TT, 9x, 8x maybe as well.

i was sure that was passive but so many sets last sessions slowplayed me.

and his range for cold call my raise could easily be 99 33 88 should i pot control with half pot bets or something ? or maybe check turn bet river

Whilst his range could easily contain flopped sets, I also think they would have raised this board texture. But even if they didn't, I assigned a range of various straight draws, TPTK, 2ndPTK, suited connectors, sets, overpairs, 2 pairs etc to Villain, and ran it through all the streets.

On the flop we're 65% favourite, on the turn we're 55% favourite and on the river we're 74% favourite. So here I think we should be betting all 3 streets and folding to a river raise. I still maintain that we should go for relatively thin value on the river to get hands like 9Ts, 8Ts, 89s etc to call, however the presence of that 2nd J on the river makes him more inclined to call 9x and 8x since it makes it less possible we have a J in our hand :)

      Hello w4terman,

The problem with going for Check/Call mode is that we are turning our hand into bluff-catcher and that's it. We often wont be even able to Call the river again. Rather 2nd barrel it vs any kind of weaker hands and maybe even 1card FD or any other draw, plus for free showdown.

      Best regards.
