Havent posted here in ages but I feel I need to warn members not to use William Hill/

I play fulltime and recently moved my roll to hills. As with every other platform (rightly or wrongly) I kept all my roll there as I have a neteller+ card so just withdraw money when I need it as its instant with neteller.

After 9 days at hills I tried to make a withdrawal as I was out of cash and they told me that my account is undergoing security checks for collusion and I Cant access my money (But I can still play, obviously they have no problem with me generating rake for them)

THey wont give me any idea of timescales at all and they wont tell me how often this would be happen in the future (with I think is a fair question as customer who wants to know hof often they will be prevented from accessing their funds)

ALso I explained that I have no cash and they will not even release £10 to me so that I can get by whilst these checks are being done.

I have played at almost site there is and never had this kind of problem despite having made a profit every month for the last two years.

This is a pretty big deal for me as I recently moved on my own to Hungary to grind and now its looking like there is a real possiblity of me losing my roll and not being able to get back to England.

So Im posting here so that anyone who is thinking of depositing on William Hill reconsiders. THey seem very shady and your money is safer justy about anywhere else.

      Hi Hackett77,

I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with William Hill.

Generally, their customer support is really solid, so this case is for sure an exception, rather than the rule.

Additionally, such checks on withdrawals are very much standard practice in the industry, and they aren't generally initiated without some cause, although of course they can make mistakes, just like we all can.

Of course, I know that doesn't help you so much, so I'll ask William Hill for a statement via our contacts here and hopefully they will be able to expedite a fair solution for all concerned here.

I'll keep you updated via this thread.

      Best,

      Marc

      Thanks Marc

Its not the withdrawal checks that are causing the problems. My documents where verified the day I deposited and Ive made two small withdrawlas since no problem.

They are saying the are doing collusion checks and from some of the threads ive read at other forums it sounds to me that im going to have my account and lose what I have.

This seems very odd. I mean firstly, If they suspected me of collusion why would they allow me to continue to play?

Also, do they not run these checks and the hundreds of breakeven bots that generate thousands in rake each month?

Seems to me that they want to keep the rake generating bots that obviously are colluding (in that they dont take money from each other) but want to penalise the players like me that make a profit after spending huge amounts of time becoming good at the game.

I dont know what to do If the wont allow me acces to my funds, short term or longterm.

what I am annoyed about now is that they have confirmed that they are happy for me to play on the account/

So they are basicaly saying " we believe there is a security issue with your account so we will not let you withdraw at this time. However we are happy for you to use these funds to relieve other customers of their money and give us a cut (or all of the profits)"

Hey let us know how this turns out. I think in the future you should always have some money somewhere else as well. Best bet would be a bank. And if your poker roll is large enough; spread it among two (or more if you'd like) platforms.

After what happened to full tilt we should all be a little wiser and be very cautious.

      Good luck

Wow I really hope you get your money back. You're stuck in a very bad position. I'm sure everything will work out in the end though.

Well I finally got it this morning thankfully.

Good advice about not leaving all the money on the platform so moved everything out except 10bis to my neteller as I dont have a bank account anymore.

I assume neteller is safe to keep money on deposit as ive never had an issue with them before.

Glad to hear this was finally resolved. William Hill responded to us with very little information, I'm afraid, so I'm glad we didn't need to step in here.

That was what was frustrating Marc, the lack of information throughour from their end.

      Hey Hacket,

I have previously worked on an iPoker skin and I feel that this thread is giving an unfair view of the issue, and I can imagine the poker manager is ripping his hair out due to the lack of knowledge you seem to have on the networks procedures.

All bigger sportsbook sites have a Finance&Fraud team that check all withdrawals ranging from casino/sportsbook/poker and they might not necessarily have a specific team for just poker.

If they do have a specific team, or specific procedures for VIP poker players you might not even be classified as one due to your lack of play.

All ipoker sites send large withdrawals for poker checks and they are checked by the collusion team of ipoker, this can take a few days.

If you are not in contact with the VIP manager, you are just another player asking for his withdrawal and will therefore be responded by the standard response that finance usually sends. They are not a VIP service, they are customer service and they don't know anything about your case except that it is being checked by ipoker so that they can pay your withdrawal.

This is industry standard on iPoker, and unless you are a VIP you will have to wait a little to withdraw your funds.

If you are a VIP on the other hand the VIP manager is likely to vouch for your withdrawal and have finance ignore the collusion check.

      Hope this helps

      Hi there finnegan101,

Have you got a source for this information? I am sure if there were any worthwhile breaking news, PokerStrategy.com as an affiliate of William Hill would be the very first to have the news for you.

      Kind regards,
      Gary

William Hill is the shit. Never had any problems, great costumer service, and after a standard security check, you can withdraw to any method as you please, and usually payouts are instant. At least if you are honest, hard raking and totally legit player.

You must have done something really naughty.

      +1
Never had much problems...and if there was any I just talked to online support and they solved it very fast every time. :)

Unfortunatelly iPoker can't match traffic Stars has. :( But that is not WHs' fault. ;)

      Hey Hackett,
I havent made a withdrawal at William Hill yet, but i did it on some other poker sites, and it seems that they all have some kind of ID check proceedure, which means that you have to send them a copy of your ID and recent utility bill, and after they check the data and if they match with those of your account, you should have no problems with withdrawing funds. And they make ID check only once, after that you can make as many withdrawals as you like (as long as you have funds in your account ofcourse). So my advice to you would be to just relax and wait, and if you really need money just go to their Online support and tell them your issues. I m sure they will help you, that s the reason they are there.
Hope that your problem will get solved ASAP.
      Enyoj.
