NL 25 SSS Stack was $5.10

Have read a fair bit about disregarding minraises lately. So how does that play with this hand?

My first instinct was to call but went for safe option this time.

      Poker Stars
      No Limit Holdem Ring game
      Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
      8 players

      Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is SB with 8 9
UTG raises to $0.5, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Hero folds, BB raises to $2, UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

      Flop: 9 6 A ($6.6, 3 players)
      BB bets $6.3, 2 folds.
Uncalled bets: $6.3 returned to BB.

      Final pot: $6.6

might be not a bad spot to call. you are getting fair pot odds. on the higher limits I would likely call, since you also get a little bit of positional advantage, having a preflop raiser (UTG) close to you, since you will be check/pushing on flop, if you hit a strong draw.

On NL 25 you can skip it. you are extracting enough value with you strong hands and don`t really need marginal situations.

I agree here with xylere. These spots need a good postflop play by you. Save that up for higher limits, after you mastered steals and resteals. ;)
