1st hand raise bigger PF. After one limper raise to 0.5 to encourage folds and disguise your hand. 99 won't win a big pot unimproved so by raising bigger you accomplish both goals 1. increase chances of winning w/o showdown and 2. make the pot bigger and so makes it easier to stick it in when you hit the 9. On the flop you should def. c-bet bigger to say like 3/4 to potsize since there's many cards that scares you and if villain has a pair under 99 it'll scare him as well killing the action (ie. A7 for villain) + there's 2 diamonds and 2 other people on the pot. I'd 2 barrel the turn too because of the diamonds, in this hand obviously I was getting called but mostly I'll either scare a 7/two overs or protect my hand from a draw.

Other hands are just bad luck, move on.

and a question to go along with this

calling here is the right option correct? (preflop)
and was pushing him the correct option on the flop? i mean i have pretty much everything but 99 kk and aa beat and it seemed rather unlikely he had one of those.

am i the only person this unlucky?

      Are you playing SSS?
If yes, you should leave tables when you have more then 25 BB's!

= changing TO sng because of cashgame variance.

Hah, I didn't exactly mean it like that.... ive gotten plenty of bad beats in SNgs, it just seems that ive been A LOT more profitable in them lately (mainy second place due to a lot of coinflip loses... but i got my third win of the day just now)

and yes ive been pretty much using the sss, but have not really been keeping up with the leaving tables unless im up big.

In ref to your AQ hand

I just feel that the pots are getting to big for TPTK.

They encourage to play for big pots with big hands and small pots for small hands (ie TPTK).

Its very tempting to shove hard or call all in pushes with only top pair top kicker.

Its due to the strategy and the narrowness of the starting hands.

Often your not in pots with fh or st8 or even 2 pair with the sss strat.SO when you hit your big pair it feels like christmas and u deserve payoff.

I find you really need to know your opposition and be wired into the flow of the table to call allins with TPTK.

      Keep up the posting

      Hello Jeffpm07,

I recommend using a Handconverter and posting the hands individually in the Hand analysis forum which can be found here: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/forum/board.php?boardid=1387

Looking over your hands I can recognize several very large leaks in your game which you need to work on.

#1) Your largest leak is your stack size. You seem to buying in with 5$ at all your tables. This is neither Shortstackstrategy nor Bigstack strategy. I suggest for the moment you play SSS and buy-in with $2 (read the articles on SSS). Playing with a medium-stack is very ineffective and -EV.

#2) Your raise sizes are not high enough. If you raise pre-flop we suggest raising 4BB+1BB per limper before you. In the 99 Hand this mean 50 cents, and in the QQ hand 80 cents. Postflop you are also betting too weakly at times.

#3) In you 99 hand - you are not really beating anything anymore at the river. Just fold.

As I said in the other thread. Re-read all articles - visit coachings - watch videos - and spend more time learning theoretical aspects of poker. If you do all of this - things will start going upwards.

      Best regards,
      SoyCD

Ok, thanks for the help i appreciate it, I think ill try to keep with the sss bankroll now, I have some things I defintly need to work on but I think im just on a big downswing, for instance I just made a good call game in in which I bet 1$ on the turn and he reraised me all in with what ended up king high and i called only for him to get a pair of kings on the river.

      QFT @ what SoyCD said.

it's obviously not impossible to play as a medium stack, but you don't follow the shortstack strategy laid out on this site to do it

@AQ hand you shoulda not think only about what ur beating (it applies to all hands) but what hand justifies your villain's play. I agree with the push here b/c the guy that raised coulda have done it with an open ended (JT) or FD, or both, or a worse top pair looking for protection. If the board was Q 2 5 rainbow I would play it a little slower and be more careful about sets and stuff.
