      Hey,
      I've been playing NL5 at Stars, until recently I didn't have any tracking software but I recently downloaded Elephant and the amount of rake I've paid astounded me. Over 4861 hands I lost $7.11, however I've paid $39.6 in rake. with rake I've lost 2.9bb/100. I don't know exactly how Elephant calculates rake, for example whether it includes rake paid in pots I lost. Even if it does the additional $19.8 would put me at a profit of $12.69 at a slightly more respectable 5.22bb/100. If it only included pots I won then the figures would be $32.49 and 13.37bb/100.

      My question is whether it's possible to sustain an acceptable winrate with rake as high as it is? Shouldn't I avoid marginally profitable spots like QQvsAK AIPF because the rake makes it -EV? A brief online search suggests that Stars is one of the better sites for rake at micro stakes but this may be outdated. Are there any sites with less rake or rakeback programmes?

      It is beatable due to many bad players, unlike higer ones where reg/fish ratio is lower and rake also(not small, but lower rake).

      Most important is for you to realise that you don't play against AK or whatever, but against range of hands. The only way to know exactly his hand is to see his holding during game. Since that is not case here, start thinking about ranges.

      And to fold QQ if you belive that his holding is AK is just lol.

             Equity     Win     Tie
      MP2    43.94%  43.73%   0.21% { AKs, AKo }
      MP3    56.06%  55.85%   0.21% { QQ }

      I play on a non-tracked prima site and the rake is capped at 10c for nl, OH and OH8, both 6max and FR at $2 and $4 buyin. With it being a nice fishy site it makes the game hugely profitable there.
      OH and don't get me started on the freerolls and loyalty point games, lol.

      Dont think that rake somewhere is lower than in stars.

      Yes it's a microgaming/prima site and I am perfectly sure because I've played there for 4 years, lol, but bare in mind there is no rakeback at these levels; rakeback starts at nl10.
