hey did i play this hand badly?

      Grabbed by Holdem Manager
      NL Holdem $0.04(BB) Replayer
      SB ($1.07)
      BB ($4.28)
      UTG ($2.20)
      UTG+1 ($5.13)
      UTG+2 ($4.03)
      MP1 ($4.70)
      MP2 ($4.04)
      CO ($8.51)
      Hero ($4.81)

      Dealt to Hero J:spade: A:diamond:

UTG calls $0.04, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.20, fold, fold, UTG calls $0.16

      FLOP ($0.46) 9:spade: A:club: 6:spade:

UTG bets $0.44, Hero calls $0.44

      TURN ($1.34) 9:spade: A:club: 6:spade: 5:heart:

UTG checks, Hero bets $0.85, UTG calls $0.85

      RIVER ($3.04) 9:spade: A:club: 6:spade: 5:heart: 6:diamond:

      UTG checks, Hero checks

      Hero shows J:spade: A:diamond:
      (Pre 26%, Flop 13.9%, Turn 6.8%)

      UTG shows Q:spade: A:heart:
      (Pre 74%, Flop 86.1%, Turn 93.2%)

      UTG wins $2.89

on the flop i thought i would call his donk since raising only isolates against stronger hands... is this right?

i interpreted his check as weakness on the turn so i decided to bet into him and hope to gain value from some other weird Ax hand or some pocket pair.

on the river i decided that there was no point in continuing the aggression so i decided to just check in case i was beaten.

i didn't see any other way to play the flop, but should i have bet the turn like that or simply just checked behind?
