      Train of Thought:
I check atc on the BB as usual.
I get bottom pair at the flop, which to me is slightly ahead of nothing.
We are just 2 players and both just wanna check until river.
That's why I thought he could have had nothing at all not even a bottom pair since usually if this guy has bottom pair he believes to be Zeus or whatever god you want.
So I bet pot on the river, to make him call with high card or anyway to get the .05 pot.

Should I have just checked and not trying to get the tiny pot + .05?
Should I have done something else?

      Known players:
      Position:
      Stack

      River: ($0,05) 9:diamond: (2 players)

      Hi

the problem here on the river is you dont have a hand. The 3 dosnt count any more seen as theirs allready 2 pair on the board

So I bet pot on the river, to make him call with high card or anyway to get the .05 pot.
Why would you want him to call with high card when any card bigger than a 7 has you beat?. Best just to check it down as you would never expect to win a showdown with 73o in that spot

      Hi, AtrociousNightmare

I think you were thinking that on the river you still got something :P
The Board beats you since there are two pairs better than yours and you only have a 7 high as a kicker so why bet the river ? any had better then 7 high beats you.

If the button calls he want to see a cheap flop why would you give him one ?

either try to steal the pot pre-flop or check/fold unimproved all the way

      Kind regards,
      Bogdan

Mmm yeah I guess I relied too much on player information.

I'm noticing this is happening too often, because I get a bit frustrated by bad players getting lots of pots for no valid reason, so I try to be an obstacle even when I have small points, becoming a bad player myself, which is no good.

I usually lead out for potsize on the flop - his limpingrange is weak so he will fold a lot.

As played on the river I like your bet. Even though he will call Ax, most of the time he's folding some Jhigh, Qhigh or 8high.
