      on the flop I put him on a flush draw but then once he calls the turn i'm not so sure anymore. Should I have been betting again on the river. I figured I was only getting called by a better hand

      River is must bet against one pair or even maybe two pair hands.
      If you think he would not c/rai with worse hands you can c/f, but don´t expect him always having either KJ or busted draws.
      61/3 would c/c you down with any Ax hand and likely most Qx hands.
