      Hello everyone.

I've been a pokerstrategy member for two years now and actively lurking the forums for over a year so I decided it's time to stop being the silent observer and give blogging a go myself! I found inspiration in awesome blogs I read here every day and you guys really inspire me, all of you from the micro stakes grinders all the way to high stakes soulreaders! So I think it's about time I take it more seriously and work as hard as I can to improve my game and i hope this blog will help me get there so here goes.

I'm Alex, I'm a 25 year old student and I come from Serbia. I've been playing poker from the age of 18 I believe and I haven't really taken it seriously until recently even though i was making some money out of it. I believe university was the main thing that has held me back pokerwise because I always had to put it first and never gave poker my undivided attention. Well that's about to change since I'm a few exams away from graduating and i know I don't want to have a 9-5 job right after I graduate. I hope I can live the beautiful and free poker life for at least a couple of years.

On to poker. I started playing live and played a lot of tournaments daily as well as home game SNGs and later switched to live CG. I started playing online a long time ago on 66poker playing freerolls. Then I came across pokerstrategy and started playing on FT with some success given I was a fish. I played SNGs and MTTs with various results most notable being 2nd place in the Daily dollar and 1st place in the Daily Dollar rebuy. Then i switched to CG nl25 where I donated money like a boss! And then withdrew a big chunk and busted the account in february (which turned out to be a blessing:D ) and switched to stars. At the moment I'm playing NL25 SH on stars (where I'm not tracked :( ) And I have moved up from NL10 where I pretty much crushed with 5bb/100 over some ~500k hands but I withdrew a significant chunk of my BR this summer and also spewed a good bit on failed NL25 shots and some NL50 HU, and here I am now.

If you have managed to read all this I would just like to say that I will try to update the blog regularly and post some interesting hands, graphs, music...
P.S. a special shout out goes to plebpl! Hope he drops by from time to time

I'm gonna hit the tables now and later I'll post some interesting hands.
      Cheers!

Finally here's one Serbian song to get the thread going :s_cool:

I stole a quick info from purplefizz:

To post your poker software graphs
      1. right click on it and save the image somewhere in your computer
      2. upload to a free image hosting service (like imgur.com, imageshack.com, etc.)
      3. in that image hosting service, copy the link which says for posting in forums
      4. paste in our message box
      5. voila!

      :)

Thanks Wriggers hopefully I'll turn the NL25 graph around too :)

Ok so first session since i started blogging is in the books. I logged a small profit 1.5 BIs but it wasn't a good session. I played bad at the beginning and started playing better towards the middle, but then i got 2-3 big suckouts by a couple of major fish and started to feel upset but i managed to control the tilt and wanted to play a bit more. Then a couple of good hands came and I stacked both those fish + valuetowned a nit who couldnt fold TPTK. There were only few interesting hands since either I played bad or I played ok in standard spots. But lets see a couple of interesting ones:

      1) The guy is 18/16/7 over 132 hands but at the time of the hand I only had 30ish hands on him and his stats were 38/20/9 so i thought he was pretty loose. Would you fold the turn with all the missed draws?

      Grabbed by Holdem Manager
      NL Holdem $0.25(BB) Replayer
      SB ($25)
      BB ($28.05)

      CO ($25.57)
      BTN ($31.69)

      Dealt to Hero Q:diamond: Q:club:

Hero raises to $0.75, fold, fold, SB raises to $2.50, fold, Hero calls $1.75

      FLOP ($5.25) J:diamond: 5:spade: 9:spade:

SB bets $2.50, Hero calls $2.50

      TURN ($10.25) J:diamond: 5:spade: 9:spade: 9:club:

SB checks, Hero bets $4, SB raises to $20 (AI), Hero calls $16

      RIVER ($50.25) J:diamond: 5:spade: 9:spade: 9:club: 6:spade:

      SB shows K:diamond: K:heart:
      (Pre 82%, Flop 90.0%, Turn 95.5%)

      Hero shows Q:diamond: Q:club:
      (Pre 18%, Flop 10.0%, Turn 4.5%)

      SB wins $48.25

This is what happens when you call with crap OOP :s_mad: Villain was pretty tight and i thought i might lead the turn to try to represent a flush. When he calls I realise he can very likely have AK and when the river brings a heart I think my best line is to bet/fold since if he has Ah or Kh well, obviously he's gonna raise but i thought he should fold his AKoff.

Had another short session this morning not much was going on but i booked a profit of 120bb. The thing I'm happy about is that I started playing 100% focused from the get go. This is something I have to do every time. I used to just sit down and start grinding and often lose a couple of buy ins just because i wasn't focused enough on my decisions and that caused me to spew. From now on I'm gonna tell myself to be fully focused from the point I start opening tables.
      Time for another session

      Cheers!

RL interfered with my poker yesterday since I forgot to pay the internet bill and they cut me off in the middle of the session. I was holding bot pair+fd in 3bet pot on one table and had re raised flop, and on the other one I was holding AA with a raise and a re raise PF :f_mad: Anyway, I went to pay the bill but had no time to play in the evening since I had a mini soccer match and was to tired to play after that.
Pokerwise, recently I've been talking to a friend who is a HU specialist to get a coaching and staking deal to play HU and today we had our first session. I'm excited to learn more about HU. I have played NL50 HU a bit but when I watch him play I see how bad I am :f_p: There is so much more aggression and dynamics in HU it's just insane, at least the way he plays it (I'm a scared fish :f_biggrin: ). So, I'm looking forward to branching out from NLSH, but till then- keep grinding the moniez on NL25 and improve improve improve!

      Cheers

      Hi everyone
I've played a bit yesterday, ran pretty bad but managed to brake even in the last session of the day. Earlier today I put in a short session and managed to log a 1BI profit.
Check out the graph. I guess today is "fair play day" at pokerstars. No suckouts allowed :D

Here is a hand I could use some help with:

Villain is a TAG reg. I had been aggressive in the previous couple of hands. Should I 4bet pre flop here? And as played, should I 3bet/fold flop? Or just c/f or c/c flop c/f turn? Or something else?

I'll play some more now and later I have a football match, this time vs friends so it's game on :s_evil:

You played that QQ hand fine. If you have a read his 3bet range is KK and AA you can fold pf. Other options are 4bet/broke and call. If you call then you must be willing to go broke on suck low card flops. Check-raise on flop is the best option if he conti-bets these situations which I know most NL25 TAGish players do. After that it's just so much -EV to fold.

Hey man, good to see you at the tables today, sick sick 10nl graph hopefully u can repeat it at 25 now.

In regards to QQ, I think it depends a little on history in these spots, what's his 3b %, and his 3b %'s from BTN and CO. These spots are really awkward, you need to know if he gets out of line in them or not, and how often.

Think you need to in general build some sort of gameplan for these spots. Personally I hate stacking QQ off without some sort of dynamic or being sort of BTN vs blinds etc.

Yea, you are absolutely right about having a plan for those situations.
We do have a bit of a history but still, now that I think, he probably doesn't go out of line much in these spots.
I was thinking (more like hoping like a true fish) that he could have JJ here because I was pretty aggro at the time.
But the best line would probably be to re raise/fold flop.

I still have ~50bb left after I re raise flop and his line looks so strong even though it can be attributed to reg wars. I think the only thing I beat there is JJ or maybe 77.

I guess an update is in order.
I've played a bit in the last couple of days, and had one big downswing. I'm recovering now but i really need to work on my mindset. I need to stop tilting when I get sucked out on, but it's easier said than done. I've even said I would strictly follow a 4BI stop loss but that went out the window when I was steaming.
I was too blinded with rage to mark any hands so i'll do it in today's sessions so I have something to post here for discussion.
      Wish me luck :spade:

      Hi guys
It's been a swingy week. I played a lot and was running pretty bad, especially vs big donks which made it much more frustrating. I'm not going to complain too much because I've seen graphs here on PS, such as fusionpk's that make me wanna cry so I guess I have no right to complain. I managed somehow to brake even and started to control tilt a bit better. I stopped a couple of times when I was down only to come back later and get some of that money back, so this is definitely a good thing.
Here's my graph of the month so far

The first few days were still NL10 i think, the rest is NL25.

Here are some interesting hands, some are just to show how donks make me tilt and some need discussion.

First let me show you how donk own me.
