Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is UTG+1 with A :club: A :spade:
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.17, 1 fold, CO calls $0.17, 3 folds

      Flop: ($0.41) K :spade: 2  K :diamond: (2 players)

      Hey gnb07,

You have to shove river for value. If you go check/call you let him check back all the worse pairs while he will always value bet against you with Kx or some potential flush.

      Best regards,

i dont get it. how can you shove river when he is calling all previous streets? only thing villain can be afraid of is KQ or AK. I cant imagine any combination that would complete our flush and at the same time would be in UTG preflop open raise range.

what makes u believe he doesnt have Kx?

It is about the value you lose against worse PPs . You will lose against Kx but won't he raise Flop, Turn sometimes? ;)

That said your equity is still high enough to valuebet thinly

      Best regards,

ok, so you are saying that most of the time when villain has Kx he will not slowplay it and makes a reraise on one of the streets and thats why its +EV in the long run?

If I put myself on the villains position and cold call preflop with TT-JJ then do i really keep calling both streets with them?!?

Its really bad play by him but we didnt have any reads about it and shove on the river is like running to the wall for the third time but with full force.

i guess it explains why i am still struggling at NL5.
      :)

You are not Villain and Villain ain't you so putting yourself in his shoes is pretty bad for your profitability as you will miss scenario's where you will be confused he is calling down with JJ. Having an open mind is good ;)
