Struggled to pin down his possible range, he probably has Jx based on post flop play, but I figure that based on pre-flop he should have Ax or a decent pocket pair.

Based on that I was half tempted to call river, but decided against.

Hero bets $0.65, BU calls $0.65.

      Turn: ($2.41) A:diamond: (2 players)
      Hero checks, BU checks.

      River: ($2.41) J:diamond: (2 players)
Hero checks, BU bets $1, Hero folds, BU gets uncalled bet back.

      Hello Philfox1985,

Preflop: Well, depends what do you think his 3bet calling range here is that you went for 3bet preflop?

      As played
Postflop: Nah, you can't really Call the river. He most likely ain't bluffing there. If he wanted to bluff then he would most likely do it on the turn with the Ace as good scare-card and us Checking. So it's gonna be rather rarely when you gonna see a missed FD bluffing there like that.

      Best Regards.
