      Hey everyone,

so as the title suggests, I'm just back from Las Vegas! One week of pure mentalness, bright lights, crazy characters, beautiful girls and plenty of fish!

I just wanted to write something on here about my experiences out there, to give those who havnt been, an idea of what it is actually like, what the poker is like (from my experiences only) and generally what to expect to spend/see/do!

I'll get the non poker stuff out of the way 1st....

The city - you will not comprehend just how big and lavish this place is until you see it. I could have quite easily just walked all night, just looking around me, soaking in the atmosphere. Huge hotels, insane signs for shows and loads of people just enjoying themselves and having a good time.

The hotels - just ridiculous........i'll say no more as you should be as surprised as i was when i walked into some of them!

      NOW, to the poker......

I played $1/2 tables with mixed success!! I generally felt i played pretty well, was patient, had a strong table image but when the cards dont fall your way, they dont fall your way.

My VERY FIRST HAND in Vegas was AA!!! You dream of this kind of hand to start your Vegas career off! THE NUTS pre flop. Ofcourse there are a couple limpers and when i raise to $15 i get a call. I'll no go through it cause i cant be bothered to put it into hand history format but essentially he called with 96o and rivered 2 pair...........

This is my luck all week..........

KK on a AAK board AI against AQ and KQ and ofcourse A on the river...

and so on and so on!!

But during these hands i did play well and left the table a couple times more than doubled up.

One thing for sure, this trip has more than reinforced my desire to play poker professionally, it gave me a glimpse of what is possible and the kind of lifestyle that these guys have. To be able to wake up, grab some food and head down to the casino within walking distance and play for 12 hours straight, is just a dream!

You can be assured that my username will be in the pokerstrategy news at some point, maybe not in the next year but soon. I'm more driven than ever before to learn and crush whatever limit im playing.

I cant wait for the end of the month so i can purchase the new holdem manager, set myself up for the best possible REstart to my poker career.

To those who are stuggling with drive and determination to play poker - go to Las Vegas, you may not run well, the way i didnt, but When you are standing outside the Bellagio fountains with your best mates, realising what is possible, you WILL come back with more determination than you had when you 1st started!

      I :f_love: Las Vegas

Hey IngridN - thanks for the reply man

Well i already play at party and I'm rollded for NL10 there just about, 25BI from the original $50 deposit.

I'm enjoying tourneys though at the min so i need to choose tourney or cash and go with that. I'll see, i do love cash but it can be a bit tedious sometimes!

I'm in work at the moment (yeah back from Vegas and straight back to work :( not fun!!) but when i get home ill be back on the strategy articles and hopefully get some sweat sessions organised with my friends!

      what/where you play?

      Joel
