      Hi,

I would prefer c-bet since your general 3-betting range should be very strong so he should fold even his 44 type hands if he decided to call pf for set value or he would fold to his middle pp to your turn barrel. Also he can have there Ax hands, some suited connectors, maybe suited broadway hands. 5 handed his range can be quite wide.
His flop shoving range should most of the times have some kind of pocketpair. Most likely TT/JJ, but sometimes also 88 that doesn´t want to see any turn card, so with JJ-AA I would always b/c there. I don´t see reason why he should shove sets on that really dry boards. Also likely 87s is reasonable, but that is just too small of his flop shoving range to b/f AK

So would you have called in this spot or folded?

      fold is better.
Players would generally not turn their Ax hands into bluffs and pot isn´t that big that you should go to showdown value with AK high
