Had a note saying "bet w/ air when checked to" (actually later on in the session i discovered villain is rather stationy), so i figured i should let him bluff a busted FD and lose the minimum against a slowplayed monster or JT.

      Hey enemaze,

Do you mean with your read he bets river with air when checked to or any street?

If he is a station I prefer to just check/fold flop instead of c-betting because the board is not too good to c-bet, especially when he is a station and doesn't like to fold, but against random it's well played.

On the river, I prefer to thin value-bet out myself around 0.40$ so you can get value from 9x or even 6x. If your read is true for river, then it's ok to let him bluff, but I think overall you lose value if you check/call river here.

      Best regards,
