Side games are too tempting!

Hey, everyone. Today is my lucky day.

I achieved my biggest achievement in poker yet. It probably seems nothing to you, but I'm quite proud of it. I entered a $5.50 tourney on Bwin, and finished 6th out of 899, therefore winning around $160.

Let me tell you about my past. I consider myself a good poker player. So many times I have built my bankroll up to quite a high number, then lost it all due to tilting (going on higher cash games), and even more often I lost it all due to playing blackjack, roulette, or slots.

I believe that if I would play ONLY poker, I would be a profitable player, but playing side games I'm probably still on the negative side. Today after winning $160, I instantly felt the urge to play some blackjack. And yes, I did play it (stupid me !!!!!). However, I have won an additional $80 at poker, so my total profit today stands at around $250 already.

I'm playing blackjack with the martingale system. I play 3 hands at the same time, and if I lose any of them, I double that one in the next round. So far, it worked. But I know deep down in my heart, there will be a time I will lose $30 at poker, feel the urge to win it back fast with BJ, then lose the whole bankroll there, and then feel like making a suicide.

So, can someone here PLEASE tell me that blackjack really is a game that I will eventually lose at? Is there a way Bwin can only block you from playing side games, but not from poker?

I'm such a retard. Even if I tell myself I would never play blackjack again, I just feel there will be a time I will open the damn game again. Almost sounds like I could use some help.

There is an option to hide side games and you can contact support to completely block your account from accessing those games.

I know how you feel about blackjack though..

Email the support of Bwin, and ask how to remove the Casino or set restrictions on your account.

If they cannot assist you, Cashout & uninstall the software and move elsewhere where you can set restrictions, or that doesn't have a Casino.

Or try and beat the mental game yourself, you know you're a Poker Player, you've seen you're winning, so stick with it. You will lose a BJ playing casually as you are in the long run, the same with roulette.

I had a similar problem as you, i would win $20 and just mess about in the Casino, Probably lost alot of my Poker Profits in there, Now i don't touch it. I'm here for poker, not Gambling.

As for the higher Limit rooms, Perhaps support can also setup restrictions for that? I'm not sure, but there is no harm asking!

      Hey Tunatic,

As Matt mentioned, email the support and for them to set up some restrictions on your account. There's nothing worse than grinding for 8 hours just to lose all the profits in a game that requires no skill.

You seem to be doing well at this poker lark, so keep up the good work and stay away from the tables!

Keep us informed how your poker progresses yes?

      Thanks
      Patrick
