[NL2-NL10] NL Beginner (2c/4c): AKo vs UTG raise from shortstack

This is my homework post for Lesson 2 of the NL Beginners Course, and the first hand I've ever posted! Please be gentle.

Our hero is excited to have dealt himself AKo. So much so, he just presses "Raise Pot" rather than working out 3x the raise, and doesn't pay enough attention to the villain's stack size or stats (5% VPIP, 5% PFR over 42 hands).

IPoker, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 8 Players

      SB: $2.95 (147.5 bb)
      BB: $0.89 (44.5 bb)
      UTG+2: $0.53 (26.5 bb)
      MP1: $3.46 (173 bb)
      MP2: $2 (100 bb)
      MP3: $2.59 (129.5 bb)
      CO: $1.04 (52 bb)
      Hero (BTN): $2 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A K
      UTG+2 raises to $0.06, 4 folds, Hero raises to $0.21, 2 folds, UTG+2 raises to $0.53 and is all-in, Hero ?

      1. What is Hero's best line against the early position raise from a tight short stack?
      2. As played, should he call the all-in?

      Hello MrMauve,

Welcome to the NL Hand Evaluation Forum! Hopefully we will see more hands from you in the future. I hope that with our help you can improve your play and as well move up the limits. We will be waiting for the next hands and till that good luck on tables!

Against his stack we have easy decision here. Id usually just 3bet and get it in. We don't even have enough of hands on the opponent. Obviously it doesn't look great against that kind of nitty stats but we can't really Call either while we have people behind us and if we raise then we can't fold. :(

      Best Regards.
